Never tore mine but I've gotten 4 lengthening surgeries as a kid. Just seeing the word makes me uncomfortable. Whenever I reference it I can't even use the term, call it the "A word." Almost like a dude who blows out his knee can't watch videos of others doing so. My shyts are aching just talking about it:francis:

nah but I had two female teammates tear theres in the span of a few months, one of whom I ended up dating
terrible injury, took her about 4.5 months post-surgery to walk again without a boot or anything like that
She was walking with a boot after maybe a month tho

NYC (but PGH will forever be home)
Tore mine and got the operation.

Ran a 5k 3 months later. Was able to play basketball 9 months later. 12 months I was running and jumping at 100% with 0 fear (which is the biggest issue honestly).

I would definitely get the surgery. Even if it 'heals' using the nonsurgical method, your odds of reinjuring yourself go up exponentially.

Your Achilles will be more resilient after it heals. Playing bball you may have tight calf muscles. Rolling them out helps a lot. I wouldn't stop playing bball thoug..injuries happen
I’m 40 lol

I’m thinking this will take forever to heal
