Anyone think the media is overhyping Jarryd Hayne?

He isn't gonna get many reps at RB. I think he can be a legit threat on punt returns. It's a "good story" so the media is milking it, hence the hype. Also Australian media is supposedly going crazy over it... and it's one of the very few Niners bright spots that talking heads notice.

It's a interesting crossover story, like if LeBron actually played TE for the Cowboys or Odell Beckham Jr played in the NBA for a season

quitting football to go back to rugby
I hate to hear that. Dude was the most exciting player on the Niners last yr imo. Says how far the Niners fell, but he definitely had talent to play in the league.

On the other hand you'll be able to catch him at the Olympics this summer playing for Fiji in Rugby 7s

Might wanna give it a watch if you haven't before, them nikkas are pretty entertaining

And if the Wallabies lose this upcoming tour, I wonder if the ARU reaches out to him to give Union a go

Dont do that sir.....:francis:

“I am retiring from the NFL because the Fiji Rugby Sevens team reached out to me about the opportunity to join the team for the upcoming Olympics, and I simply could not pass that chance up. The Olympics has been something I have admired since I was a little boy, and it is an opportunity I feel very similar to me joining the NFL,” Hayne said in a statement.
