there are VITAL nutrients that are almost nonexistent in plants, (vitamins b12, d ) both being EXTREMELY important. also, some minerals are very difficult to get...... for example calcium and iron (while abundant in some plants, they have very low bioavailability the body can use only a small fraction) and iodine.
can an adult live as a healthy vegan? sure, but kids?? NO. children have much different nutritional needs than adults. Kids generally require more energy and protein per body weight than adults and they require less fibre, which is a bad combination for vegan diet.
youre not getting kids on a vegan diet in the 80s.
