Death
I remember our apartment in the projects.
I had a corner room with a window that looked down on the courtyard.
Had this white lady that lived downstairs from me that had the thickest thighs and fattest ass...and this little pomeranian (I think) dog.
(Where the fukk she found that shyt in the Bx in the 90's I'll never know...)
She used to get undressed by her window and maaaan...when I tell you she had the titty game on lock...SHE HAD THAT shyt ON LOCK!!
:whoo:
But that ass was allllllll cottage cheese....yikes.
:scust:

Saw her ass every fukkin day and used to bust to memories of them perfect tittays as a teen for like 2 summers in a row.

then right before we moved, I got the prize...
I saw some brotha pushin up on her in the front of the building when I was getting in one afternoon, sure as shyt I peeped them coming in the building together while I was hanging out in the lobby with my friends.
So I ran up to my room and opened the window and got in position to peep a look....nothing....5 minutes go by....nothing.
:martin:

But then I hear....

:gladbron::gladbron::gladbron::gladbron:
Homeboy was blowin her back the fukk out!!!
:bryan:

Was mad that it wasn't me...but got my nut out, best believe.

Tried to push up on her myself the next summer...no joy.
She said I was cute...patted me on the head and kept on walking.
First time gettin shot down by an older woman...
:sadbron:

I feel you breh. I'm thinking about just splurging with my girl and getting a luxury spot :snoop: because of the BS of dealing with roommates, constant noise, and shared spaces. High rise here I come.

From now on:

Central A/C and heat (fukk a radiator)
In unit laundry
Huge windows/balcony or an outdoor space

AT MINIMUM

It’s all about the time frame of when the buildings were built. I think every building in nyc built between the 1950s and 1990s has a parking garage.

The new affordable housing buildings are mixed. Some have no garages and a lot of them do.

Yeah the only reason a rental building would go up with a garage these days would be to lease it out as commercial space and generate income for the building, have the company running the garage give (slight) discounts to residents and hold 3-4 spots for building staff. probably some political shyt has to go into it too, much more than a developer saying "we want to add a garage." NYC is weird with everything. so much graft.

not really sure what the overhead is for a garage in the city but i'd imagine they are very profitable. the garage across the street from the building i grew up in was next to a grocery store would charge $7.50 for a half hour (presumably for people pulling in to shop) M-F and $12 for a half hour on weekends. $400 a month anywhere south of 96th street in manhattan is considered a "good" price :mjcry:

not sure if they still do this anymore but what used to be a decent option for parking in the city is NYCHA - if you're a non-resident you used to be able to park there for $200 a month. I mean it's an uncovered, open air spot, in the middle of the projects - but depending on the location it's a steal...

what's your budget and ideal location(s)? In the city, or boros? a ton of the new builds going up in downtown BK and Long Island City meet those requirements...still might be tough to find a washer/dryer in unit..but anyway they've built so much in those two areas that a lot of the buildings are offering rent breaks, free rent, gift cards, all sorts of specials to get people in the door. If you end up renting at one of these places and plan on not moving for a while try to sign a 2 year lease, because rest assured that after 1 year your rent will probably go up anywhere from 6-8%, unless the market is doing horrible. But yeah, if you're looking for Luxury, look for a building that just went up in downtown BK

We're setting our budget at $3500, we're 100% looking to stay in Brooklyn.

I don’t know when I’ll be ready for a house if ever, but my neighbor’s kids are annoying. She got 3 kids, the first one was quiet. Then the second one cried all the damn time, and now the last one cries all the damn time too. shyt is annoying. She just let me cry too:francis:

Doesn’t change how I feel about apartments though, it’s a crap shoot really. I’m trying to getting into one of these new buildings.

You're golden man. start looking now if you're not in a lease already or in a position to leave your situation. Now is a good time to look. Inventory is probably lower than May-September, but that's the time that most renters in NYC move or are looking - right now you won't have to compete so much and could possibly get a better deal. A free month or two at the beginning or end of the lease, etc.. I just did a quick search for BK in your budget in and around the area stretching from the bridges to downtown brooklyn, and saw a couple decent things out there.

Lol.

I'm good though. I know I'm winning in the end.

We getting you a spot that has either concrete or top floor.

Man I need either or. Why the fukk are these developers not building their shyt solid. Like who the fukk wants to hear footsteps or random noise? This isn’t the 1930s where apts were like 99% wood. I can imagine how frustrating it is.
