There will be wide variance

"Luxury" designation, location, and price all mean jack shyt

Alot of this brand new and relatively new shyt, fly modern amenities and all, is really plywood 3 little pig apt complexes. They built quick and cheap with no regard to lasting to accommodate the bustling (possibly, formerly bustling....well have to see abt that ) housing market .

This is what I'm facing now. If concrete ain't all over the walls and between the floors n' shyt (or at the very least you live on the top floor) you're screwed.

I bought a cooperative apartment. It is cool, but the fact that you can hear fukkin' everything bothers me more and more :scust: Porky b*stard above me is a dikkhead, walks like he is 500 pounds, plays wack ass music... and I can hear the older lady talk with her church friends below me. I can't even fukk the way I want because I'm actually worried about making too much noise :francis:

Luckily, dude above me paid wayyyyy more than what I paid for the same apartment, which helped kickstart my equity. People are now paying tens of thousands more for the same type of apartment. After I get my bathroom remodeled (for resale value) I'm making out like a bandit :wow:

I thought about getting a multi right away but I'll wait for the "correction" and snag one for cheap. I'd like a small cute little house with as little grass n' shyt as possible.

Most of them shyt are garbage and the shytty construction does not keep the noise from coming thru the floor. If anything, you want to live in an old project building they redid since them shyts have like concrete between floors, so you dont have to hear your neighbor.

But yeah I pay this expensive ass rent here in MD, in a building built in like 2014 or so, and I damn near want to assault whoever lives above me. I go upstairs and bang on their, with my joint on me of course, in case a nukka wanna act up. They never answer but they ass stop making noise. They better pray I dont find out who actually lives there cuz Im liable to go upside their head with a bat, if I do...idgaf man women old ladyt whoever...there will be blood.
They’re putting them up too damn quick bruh. I’ll be damned if I’m paying 1500 or better for some place that might have worse acoustics than a project building. One of my friends had an apartment in uptown Charlotte and it was in a pretty good spot. The train right next door, around shops and stores, etc but man that shyt is not worth a thousand! There was nothing special about it at all smh. I’m tired of them throwing up these buildings blocking skyline views and shyt

fukk apartment life. I dont miss that shyt one bit. Was in one 5 years ago while doing nursing school and will never go back. Wifey and i just moved to our new house 2 weeks ago after renting a condo to help save up for a house. Doing all the upgrades and upkeep yourself is :blessed:

fukk relying on some fat lazy ass manager to fix things

Can you believe someone on the damn cooperative board told me they were "powerless" to this sort of thing? :dahell: so shyt is just gonna get worse. fukk that.

I'm not afraid of a little fixer-upper. I actually know how to install laminate/vinyl flooring, paint, etc..

Apartment living is great.. until it isn't :pachaha:

Most of my apartment experiences turned to shyt do to neighbors. Indians plaguing the air with curry, old cacs crying about noise, kids stampeding on the above floor, etc.

shyt is horrible even tho i've lived in some nice borderline luxurious apartments myself.

I never lived in an apartment up until i was 26 when i moved to Atlanta. I've always lived in stand-alone houses. Not even townhomes. Sharing walls with complete strangers :scust:
Thus why when i was buying my house my real estate agent kept pushing me to get a townhome or condo and i was like :hhh:
But now that i see how much it cost to maintain a big back yard... :mjcry: Sometimes i really wonder if i should just...adapt :lupe:
I have a 4 bedroom house. My front and back yard combined have room for 4 additional houses the size of mine. Them fukkas be charging anywhere between $65 to $85 to mow my shyt :sadcam:
not being funny but you're a man and cant mow you're own lawn like once a month?

The majority new high rise buildings in Hell kitchen which is the majority of the new buildings being built have parking garages. I went to John Jay and Walked past them daily.

The lower rise apartment buildings you are showing me off google maps do not make up the majority of new construction in the area. But I did say in my original post that they are going back to the older model of not including parking garages to save space and encourage less driving.

I don’t know much about the Bronx buildings but from what I’ve seen driving the Uber is that the extra large affordable apartment buildings have parking garages.

The building built between 1950 and 1990 in then Bronx also have parking garages that you can see in areas like Pelham Parkway, Castle Hill, and Morris Park.

There are a lot of newer midrise buildings in places where the zoning doesn't allow for high rises. I also doubt that the high rises with garages have enough parking spots for every tenant.

Those Bronx areas you mention are in the East Bronx which is far less urban than the West Bronx. Most of the East Bronx was built with cars in mind.

From Atlanta to San Fran to LA 4now
I can't imagine living in an apartment for more than 6 months. I'd rather give that money to my moms for it to have the possibility of being reinvested in the family house instead of getting some landlord rich.

I'd rather save for 6 months or a year and make a sizable down payment on a condo or a cheap house. nikkas are wilin' trying to live that apartment life in places like NY and LA.
I'd rather wild out in LA then live in the country in a house again. My parents did that was great growing up but NOTHING beats the city life valet parking/pools/renovated gym.
