Having a streaming platform is that expensive ?

What about all those artists giving mix tapes for free on those sites ? How does it work ?

It might be free for the artists but it surely aint free for the site

They profit in everything

All those download links and streaming sites got AD REVENUE on thier

A certain tier has to be reached with the streams and the downloads before the artist see some change ($$$)

Dude a national or in this case global campaign to market an artist aint cheap if u want it done right

Unless u wann bullshyt and cut corners and take one of those Tunecore.com/Universal packages like I unfortunately did for an artist :snoop:

Thats why many just bite bullet and accept the deals from the majors

If you was getting a dollar an album on a major, you came in with HEAVY collateral and still probably got fukked on publishing

Even in the 90s/00s, the industry standard was about 10 cent a record AFTER you recouped
So this is better than no? Considering an album had 15 songs or so. 7 people streamin the album would get ya 9 cents. Which theybwill moat likely stream the album way more than once.

Verses a one time profit of 70 cents for 7 people buyin the album.

I love when an industry rappers goes broke, fukk them and their hit singles, build your castle on sand, thats what happens and Im suppose to feel sorry, nah, no love for a prostitute

Wow!!!!!

Be an upcoming artist incur massive debts (cost of putting the music together, equipment, image, self promotion, TIME) to HOPE to blow up and get a song that streams 1MM times, when you could have made more moving boxes for 3 weeks in a factory :francis:

Apple and Spotify must be making so much goddamn money
Spotify employees make more than actual writers who make hit songs :francis:

:pachaha:I can't even tell if this is mockery of cliche rap smarkdom, or genuine. ..hilarious in any event

Interesting. Apple music trying to be about the artist like Tidal. Tidal must be doing pretty good. Giants don't copy the little guy unless they got or gaining market share. Go Hov:win:

Apple's trying to make the price of doing business more expensive for their chief competition in the streaming sector. ..forcing spotify and other for-free services to pay labels more per stream...I'd love to see them frame as some kind of artists rights campaign for the sheer comedy of it

At this rate what's the point of dropping a full album all at once. I would just drop like 2 - 3 songs a month or every few weeks and just tour off those...

Seems like you would be more likely to get a couple of songs streamed a mil times than having your whole 15 track album streamed a mil times

I kno this may sound stupid, but I would rather a Niqqa bootleg my shyt than get paid those scraps for my hard earned work.

Edit:

Are they talking about us paying or the artist getting?

Nah breh that's what the artist would be getting paid :pachaha: And yeah for $910 I'd rather give my sh*t away for free to promote a concert tour, f*ck Apple.
