What I find that helps is to apply for the same job with a different CV with an entirely different first name (maybe a nickname or your middle name)

It literally takes a few seconds to apply again with your 2nd CV but what you are actually doing is giving yourself an extra chance of being selected.

CVs are selected at random based off of certain criteria so just changing your first name slightly will put you in the hat twice to be picked if you have a good CV.

mostly mid to entry level gigs in science related fields. i have a bs in biology and a computational bio cert

When you apply for the job you want incorporate all the job requirement and Function Keywords in your resume, your resume may be ranking low on their keyword system.

I had three call backs this month out of 7 submissions

Indeed, Linkedin, Glassdoor, Facebook groups in your city (Networking is important), and also topworkplaces.com When it comes to top workplaces, i just research the company and apply. I like top workplaces because chances are its a pretty good company. I use that and glassdoor reviews to weed out the decent companies from the trash ones. also the only negatives about facebook groups are people will post any type of job. It could be something like Mcdonalds to a laywer top job. So you just have to ask around.

1.Linkedin
2. Glassdoor
3. Facebook

What yall think about moving from company to company to company? A lot of people talk that millenials killed company loyalty and stuff like that, but I'm thinking about doing something like this until I find a plantation to rest at for a lil, transitioning from academia into the corporate environment.

Update: been working for about a month now. Entry level between 40-60k with all the overtime I want. I already feel trapped. :mjcry:
