But I feel as if you're oversimplifying black christians as a monolith regarding their idealogy.Let's be clear, I don't think that black Christians are oblivious to the negative effects of white supremacy or to white terrorism. But if you truly believe that this life is a short pit stop to eternity, that Christianity is the sole vehicle to enjoying that eternity, and that the odds are slim that you would have been a Christian without slavery/colonization, it would be logical to then conclude that slavery/colonization has saved many black souls would it not?
I frankly see no other way to reconcile the history of Africa and the belief that Christianity is the key to a positive eternity.
Not every christian sect believes the same process regarding this "eternity of happiness".
Also, yes, it's true that Christianity, when passed from it's oratory stage as a sect of judaism became a religion with written canon during Roman rule but saying there would be no way for christianity to have had influence on the descendant's of enslaved Africans if they had never been colonized and enslaved is a reach.
Christian idealogy began in the areas where Jesus - if he were real - began his teachings. I agree that the methodology and practice would definitely have been different but I respectfully disagree with your belief that there would have been no African Christians without colonization.
But to refocus on the original premise of the thread question - with the acknowledgment of the horrifying history of euro colonization of Africa does not mean that a person can't be a christian because among the world wide christian population, there were European Christians who, in the name of the religion, did some of the most heinous things in the name of that religion.
Being aware of the Spanish Inquisition and the wars that were fought between religious soldiers, it would be ridiculous to say a Spainard can't rectify being a christian because of what was condoned by certain sects of christian faith at the time.
But when you point that out black people get offended spiritually they've been conned and hoodwinked believing in this greater place after you die so your forced to be passive and "Good" to get there so they allow other's to do evil onto them... they make excuses for other's evil and praise the lord for forgiveness, yet their enemies pray to the same god and use the same bible to commit evil acts upon them and they are called fake christians...
