As long as we have a strong support system at home I think as a black man we can accomplish almost anything we put our minds to.

If it wasn't for my parents and sister pushing me and making sure I wouldn't settle for less I don't I would have stayed on track to finish school. I would have took a break and came back when I felt I was ready.

Most of the time, a man who's a general fukkup has no problem admitting as much. Even if he doesn't admit it, other men will call him out on it. Women, on the other hand, will rarely get called out by other women. I remember when that Black woman was on the news with her 15 kids cooped up in a Motel 6, talkin' bout "somebody needs to help her feed her kids." Or that other Black chick who left her tribe of kids in a Motel 6 so she could go down to Miami and party. Black women, in general, weren't using their voices to question their choices.

But, when a nikka is in the news for having 15 children, the whole community shyts on him to no end. Black men get checked by the Black community as a whole, the cac community, etc. Black women tend to get a pass aside from random nikkas on Youtube and the occasional hit piece in cac media.

How did i overlook this post ...:wow:

Shahrazad Ali and Julia Hare are probably the only two Black women who hold Black woman accountable, consistently.

:wow:

These videos are amazing.

These are real women.

These are our women.

Blessed be.

Respect.

It's sad though....these videos are old as hell, but every word still holds weight today as it did then.

I remember back in the 90's when a lot of black women worked hard to get him to loose custody of his children, shyt was sad.

When I graduated grad school, and I kid y'all not I got more congratulations and gifts (gift cards, generic) from white folk then black.I had cats in my own circle not even wish me congratulations, not many cards. But white folks (mainly teachers, old guidance counselors, friends of fam) were more excited about me graduating then some of my closest homies. It was mind boggling.Being a black man and achieving success you will lose folks.

Same shyt happened to me. Many of my so called "real" friends (black) were like :ld: and many of my white associates were like :gladbron: when I graduated HS.

There are pros and cons to everything. If African American women didn't have so many kids, blacks would be less than 12% of the population. Black Americans actually have a lower birth rate that what you might expect and a death rate that's all too high. Need more babies.

Nah, we need more black folk that are productive. Numbers alone ain't gonna cut it.

You hit it on the head with this one. I believe almost any man fits this situation, but being black takes it to another level. The media portrays blacks in the worst light and we have to live with that bias. However, knowing the game people have to stop buying into the BS. Worrying about what other people think of you is just going to prevent that person from growing.

By constantly networking and meeting people outside of your immediate circle, you will slowly start to meet others that have also shaken the media BS. These are likely to be people who have jobs that they enjoy or they work for themselves. The whole energy and vibe is different than the average person who is caught up in the 9-5 rat race bytching about their employer not paying them enough.

You have to be prepared for the world to move against you, but still be able to go on about your day. Opportunities are out there, but only for those that go out and find them. Opportunity rarely finds you.

I noticed that a lot of young brothers are suffering from depression. Sadly, most of 'em are not getting any p*ssy either.

They dont lift they dont take jiujitsu. That can be depressing for a lot of men. Also, having to live up to unrealistic standards that rappers and their handlers have created for young black males cant be very easy. And lastly, brothas wanting to be like an icon on tv so they can have breathing room to treat women like garbage and it not working leads to a lot of sad faces. Theres only depression in a superficial lifestyle.
