Yup:sas1:

Didn't pioneer anything, wasnt respected as a rapper when he first came out at all, didnt introduce a new sound, had a hit single but album had no impact and he didn't change the game.....Still has yet to drop a true classic defining album,no timeless anthems:banderas:....and he got plenty of push to make him a superstar and was rejected by fans repeatedly, far as crowning him that nikka....You cant tell me T.I and Jeezy aint have a time where nationally they were considered that nikka at least in the south, and PERIOD in a lot of peoples books across the nation:blessed:

I mean Ross does have the mafiosa/luxury rap sound that no one else can seem to reproduce

Hustlin and BMF ain't timeless anthems to you?:ld:

If DTR and Teflon Don ain't classics then neither Jeezy or TI have a classic by that criteria(personally Black Dollar is the best piece of work released by all three of these guys)

Only thing TI and Jeezy got over Ross is platinum albums, if we talking STRAIGHT MUSIC, Ross kills both these nikkas.

that would be so true if all these new trap dudes didnt have songs featuring all 3 of these dudes. all these dudes have songs feature ross and tip. most of the new trap rappers came up under gucci so they dont work wit jeezy

:dwillhuh: gucci came out at the same time as jeezy and ross. hes not a new trap rapper, he is pretty much the blueprint for the new trap rappers

Gucci did come up at that time, but he really didn't get a grip till like 08 when the Jeezy backlash became popular. Everyone repped his "real" side of clapping Jeezy boy, and blast his tracks in strip clubs.

:francis: gucci was the hottest street artist in south way before 08, and he been had a big fanbase around the time trap house came out. he started falling off when he went commercial, and then got a 2nd run wit the trap god series

Jeezy was still getting play and people still played his albums, on top of his superior performed shows back then. Gucci had a massive following, yes, but all the fukkery that he produced in term of low quality artists is :francis:

If you think about money, yeah, Gucci a legend. If you talking about quality, then :manny:

Hustlin maybe:patrice:?BMF no,not to me.

And we not talking about albums Ross fans love,Trap Or Die and TM101,Trap Muzik were actually well received in real time, made the impact classics should make, and has timeless records that classics should have....Do people who are not Ross fans recognize any of these classics yall claim he has:comeon:,Do people outside of Ross stans cosign that he has a classic and overwhelming catalogue:comeon:?Youll have to fight it out with Emeinem and Kanye fans, who also think everything those two drop is incredible.

ross is the outsider in this bunch. hes really just a part-time trap rapper. he isnt even really a southern rapper. hes more of a coast-less guy like lil wayne.

gucci is a better comparison but i understand the purpose.

as far as rankings go, i gotta say:
1. young jeezy
2. rick ross
3. T.I.

- jeezy had the biggest run by far. he had the last movement in hip-hop.

- ross had the longest run, is the most consistent with the quality, is easily the best emcee of this grouping, and he was the only one that put together a memorable crew that took over the rap world. his shortcomings are that he didnt pioneer anything and he didnt drop an album or tape with the impact or importance of trap or die, tm101, trap muzik or king. you can argue that he has stuff thats just as good or better than those releases tho.

- T.I. had the biggest commercial career but street-wise he had the weakest run of the 3. and he really only had 2 albums that were worth a dam(plus a couple or so old mixtapes that popped regionally).

Rich Forever and Black Dollar were very well recieved, most non ross fans will admit those tapes are dope.

The Ross that most rap fans don't like is Trap Ross....even though I think Ross does trap better than TI...slightly better than Jeezy. Mafioso/luxury beat Ross is the one that TI and Jeezy can't fukk with.

Rich Off Cocaine
Mafia Music 2
Keys to the Crib
Super High
Amsterdam
Wuzzup

That's the style that Ross pioneered. Nobody can style over luxury production like Ross can.

I'd say they are....considering their accomplishments, longevity and status in the game. Gucci Mane is up there too but he's not as "mainstream" as the others mentioned. I kinda think of him as a Down South version of how Cam'ron was with Jay, Nas, etc that were doing it during their era...up there with the big dogs, strong following, trendsetter, and not industry friendly.

great post. gucci is camron all the way.

gotta shoutout LIL BOOSIE in here too.

before he got booked, he was neck-n-neck for the south crown with gucci.

i guess boosie is the beanie siegal/styles p of this scenario. i cant believe his name isnt getting mentioned.

Of course everyone is gonna come in and shyt on Ross when he makes the better music of the three :aicmon:

arguably he does.

but yea, alot of these arguments are too commercially-driven. which is bullchit, especially with these dudes being street rappers.

TI's done because of that Iggy stuff. Jeezy's songs aren't as exciting after a year or so. But some of Rick Ross' songs actually sound better 5 years later.

truthfully, TI was done when he dropped "TI vs TIP".

hes been a glorified commercial rapper ever since.

Yup

rick ross was THAT NIKKA from 2010-2012. maybe even 2013. those years get foggy. dark times. but he was the man.

T.I, was the one that was never the man. he was the only one begging to be seen as such too.:heh:

as far as the classic album talk goes, im not sure about any of them having legit classic albums. im not ruling it out, but its still up in the air for these guys. i'll say this much tho; rick ross has joints that are arguably just as good as jeezy & tip's best stuff in terms of quality. but i agree that their stuff had more impact because they were pioneers and ross wasnt. i agree with that part.

thats wassup but until this become a popular go-to style, he cant be considered a pioneer.
