I'd say they are....considering their accomplishments, longevity and status in the game. Gucci Mane is up there too but he's not as "mainstream" as the others mentioned. I kinda think of him as a Down South version of how Cam'ron was with Jay, Nas, etc that were doing it during their era...up there with the big dogs, strong following, trendsetter, and not industry friendly.
great post. gucci is camron all the way.
gotta shoutout LIL BOOSIE in here too.
before he got booked, he was neck-n-neck for the south crown with gucci.
i guess boosie is the beanie siegal/styles p of this scenario. i cant believe his name isnt getting mentioned.
Of course everyone is gonna come in and shyt on Ross when he makes the better music of the three
arguably he does.
but yea, alot of these arguments are too commercially-driven. which is bullchit, especially with these dudes being street rappers.
TI's done because of that Iggy stuff. Jeezy's songs aren't as exciting after a year or so. But some of Rick Ross' songs actually sound better 5 years later.
truthfully, TI was done when he dropped "TI vs TIP".
hes been a glorified commercial rapper ever since.
Yup
Didn't pioneer anything, wasnt respected as a rapper when he first came out at all, didnt introduce a new sound, had a hit single but album had no impact and he didn't change the game.....Still has yet to drop a true classic defining album,no timeless anthems....and he got plenty of push to make him a superstar and was rejected by fans repeatedly, far as crowning him that nikka....You cant tell me T.I and Jeezy aint have a time where nationally they were considered that nikka at least in the south, and PERIOD in a lot of peoples books across the nation
rick ross was THAT NIKKA from 2010-2012. maybe even 2013. those years get foggy. dark times. but he was the man.
T.I, was the one that was never the man. he was the only one begging to be seen as such too.
as far as the classic album talk goes, im not sure about any of them having legit classic albums. im not ruling it out, but its still up in the air for these guys. i'll say this much tho; rick ross has joints that are arguably just as good as jeezy & tip's best stuff in terms of quality. but i agree that their stuff had more impact because they were pioneers and ross wasnt. i agree with that part.
Rich Forever and Black Dollar were very well recieved, most non ross fans will admit those tapes are dope.
The Ross that most rap fans don't like is Trap Ross....even though I think Ross does trap better than TI...slightly better than Jeezy. Mafioso/luxury beat Ross is the one that TI and Jeezy can't fukk with.
Rich Off Cocaine
Mafia Music 2
Keys to the Crib
Super High
Amsterdam
Wuzzup
That's the style that Ross pioneered. Nobody can style over luxury production like Ross can.
thats wassup but until this become a popular go-to style, he cant be considered a pioneer.
