Definitely better than mark jackson.I wouldn't say great cuz he took his old coaches ideas and used them with the warriors.I think kerr is a good coach
Yeah, but Phil Jackson did the same shyt with Red Holzman and Tex Winter and just added his LSD hippy beliefs, East Asian philosophy and Native American spirituality practices he picked up from growing up in North Dakota.

Was running Triangle and had players meditating and readings books and shyt.

Kerr is a great coach he learned from the greatest (Phil, Pop, Lenny Wilkens, Cotton Fitzsimmons). Kerr was a great shooter, a 5x champion, and a tough/high I.Q. scrappy back up guard. He knows about team building, analytics and all that he GM'd the 7SOL Suns and was also a TV analyst. The man did it all pertaining to basketball. I wanted the Knicks to hire him.

He established the culture of unselfishness in Golden State, the offensive sets are night and day compared to Mark Jackson, he was able to improve the offensive dramatically while keeping Jackson's defensive philosophies. We see the reversed triangle they ran with Bogut up top as the passer, we see the increased off-ball movement, the increased prevalence of high screen and rolls, the higher tempo, small versatile lineups. Kerr fires his guys up catching technicals and break clipboards and gives his guys confidence.

His players like him, he went out and got a staff of capable assistants that's the difference between he and Mark Jackson.

The offensive philosophies are already established, he has great players, and capable assistants. Luke Walton was made to coach he was a high I.Q. point forward and a players son, he coached at the University of Memphis during the lockout. Mike Brown is a good defensive mind and won CoY before. That's why Kerr can step down and the Warriors can still win.

Kerr is a great coach.

As of now, can't call it. Dude really walked onto a team that is talented as hell and loves playing with each other/has crazy chemistry. The dubs were gonna make that move forward in 2015 regardless of the coach. He gets too much credit for a team I think could honestly coach themselves. But he has helped foster a great atmosphere which counts for something.

I won't be able to judge him until I can see what he does when this group starts to decline/break apart.

Coaching is overrated in the NBA. You have your Popovich's, Phil's etc. but it mostly comes down to star power.

Warriors had Kerr, Luke and Brown coaching the team in a 2 year span and they never stopped winning :yeshrug:

I will give him above average, dude has some bad things about him..like handling rotations and not doing pick and roll.

We haven't really seen him with a not super great roster so can't really judge him.
