I have before, yes. However I usually wait for choosing signal, which PUA say is a no no. I had the same issue but I solved it: in order to calmly talk to a woman you like, destroy any value you see in her. Don't project yourself with her, don't see how she's beautiful, don't think about the fact she's exactly your type, etc. Talk to her like that girl you don't care about. This is how you maximize your chance. You'll be able to assert confidence and eventually dominance.
