34 is the peak human age. Once you start getting closer to 40 than you are 30 it’s a wrap.

You are no longer “young” and find yourself peering in from the outside on what used to be. People calling you unc and sir because no matter how young you feel, the world keeps reminding you that time isn’t on yourside as much as it used to.

You’re in a whole different generation and one day in the not too distant future you gonna have to pull aside and left the youths take over. It’s their world now with their own style, culture, and lingo while your radio stations be stuck on the oldies part of the FM dial.

You gonna try to dress and talk like them but you’ll just end up looking like a fukking loser who should be at home being a family man.

"You can't lose what you don't cling to"

You have to appreciate each time in your life for what it was, and how it made you closer to who you want to be, rather than clinging to sometimes delusional beliefs that things were always better in a earlier time.

I've caught myself thinking it was all much simpler when you were picking up trash at the baseball stadium at 4:00 AM with a bunch juvenile offenders. Smoking blunts in Lincoln Park and passing a bottle around at 5:00 AM after work. What a great summer 2006 was. But in that moment, I fukking hated life.

oh wasn't it great when you slept in a halfway house, and worked in the office for $8.00 an hour.

I can feel this all the time, at 39. It's not our moment anymore, and we don't dictate what's hot or what's whatever anymore. Doesn't mean you are just washed up, but 2015 was a long time ago culturally.

Negative way of looking at it

In this society, maybe. Just stay on your game and keep trying to improve or at least maintain. I’ve seen too many older folks still enjoying their lives happy and healthy.

And consider what age really is… some of our favorite actors didn’t even get their break until late 30’s.

Average human body can live up to 120 years (programmed that way :jbhmm: ) so even at 40, thats 1/3 of possibility of life and 1/2 more realistically. I work around both young and old.. and I’m smack in the middle:beli:

My thing has been trying to knock down stress. All that “unc” shyt is just kid shyt. I literally call them that when they call me that.

But 30-35 did feel like a prime time to be alive. I made my moves then though, my whole thing has been trying to get my mind, body, and hopefully spirit right.

Life started making sense in my 30s; I didn't realize how lost I was. Just going on cruise control tbh.

For me it's nice because I got lucky, but for other people I can see how it's shyt.

The Truth
I look at my peers, they even in the same mindset, doing their own things. Like someone like Nipsey would’ve been my age. Some homies even retired by now

Plus, I don’t mind these young nikkas too much. I have lil brothers, nephews, cousins, etc., so I’ve kinda always been used to being someone others looked up too. I doubt myself a lot though, sometimes I forget all the shyt I’ve been through

And did it so they didn’t have to. Most of them doing good and following in my footsteps (some even doing better than I was at the same age). The older men/women I looked up to are doing great too.

So when I’m around all these young kids, a few latch on and I just try to help them whether it’s advice, mixing their music with the ones that do that (and for free), or whatever.

We was discussing all our injuries at work and had a young dude look at me like:picard:
But I don’t look like it. Still in decent shape (not imo) and I stay getting people talk to me like I just be in the gym all day and I be like I haven’t been to the gym in months:mjlol:

Focusing on diet as I got older may have had a better influence on that. Back in the gym next week too. The older you get the more serious you should get with everything. I used to pride myself on “not giving a fukk” when I was young and it served me right at the time, but the older you get the more you start caring about shyt and that stress will begin to show

But fukk it.. you can always check out when you feel. Why waste the life left:yeshrug:. I would say the worse part is the loneliness but thats partly my fault too so

I sincerely don't think it's negative, it's part of growing older. When we were 25 and 30, a lot of our tastes and our value systems dictated trends, just to use an example of rap. Kanye West, Drake. Those were our artists, but those guys cling to relevancy now. Facebook. That was a millennial thing, look at it now. It was also marketed to and for us. This is no longer true. Our fashion sense was copied, it is not anymore.

Nope. I don't necessarily want to live forever but I wish I could bypass the death part and learn everything there is about existence on this planet and beyond.

With that not being reality, im ok with it aside from the inevitable losing my mother and other folks.
