she sounds like a depressed person. coupled with how sensitive she is to social media negativity as a person in the limelight that can’t be good for her…
She could have a social media manager if she wanted one.

Some people just love to wallow in self pity. It's good that Twitter didn't exist when Phyllis Hyman and Mary J Bilge was at the height of their careers.

Her next single is probably dropping soon.

I see.

So basically a bigger label is offering her a bigger cheque so she's going for the Meg play.
It totally worked for Meg, I can see many artists especially signed to small Black owned labels doing this.

Meg's getting money now, If she was that mad she could buy herself out of her deal completely with 5150 and be done with it.

People be having jokes and thinking stuff like this is funny, it’s not though.. it’s just sad. I honestly don’t know why these artists even care about doing music anymore. If you can’t make it in the era where the music is the most accessible and sales are determined by clicks then why are you doing it? Folk can barely tour these days because of the pandemic and all… Then the social media addiction is real. Man I don’t remember seeing so many celebrities in my life being reduced to being social media influencers… They out here getting in the lane with these kids that are at home going viral off dance moves and shyt smh. Had lol at people bringing up J Cole and promo and all that. These people can’t make you listen to their albums. Shea Butter Baby is still one of my favorite albums from the last few years. She’s not my favorite singer, but she did her thing on that album. It if what it is with all this though. Good luck to her.

Sounds like she's over the labels, not music period. They're probably pressing her to do a lot of things she doesn't like and then she goes online and sees the criticism about it and it sucks to her. I'm sure she'd be alot happier independent and doing her own thing.

I never knew this about her.

Those ladies like her that are sensitive to criticism need to just log off social media, because you can’t stop some idiots from having an opinion about you. You can control how you respond to it and how it affects you though.

That's the problem with social media and art.

No actual separation or barrier between the artist and the audience. No mystique.

That's why I don't understand how their PR teams have limited their social media use...use your SM to promote music, your brand, and anything pertaining to your art, and that's it. Leave all of that personal shyt to yourself...hell I don't know why ANYONE puts their real life shyt on the internet personally, let alone celebrities. But that's just me

she wants the music without the business part of it.

welp, the business is how you eat but it comes with a bushel of bullshyt that she’s not equipped to handle.

now if she’s prepared to put in the legwork of writing her own music, producing/finding producers, mixing, mastering, promoting, art directing, styling, distributing/dealing with streaming services, running her social media, planning tours, negotiating deals AND putting up the bread to make this happen then she will truly be free.

She better learn to log off that shyt and take up meditation or yoga or some other calming activities that relax her and take her mind off that extra ish.

These celebrities want to be popular and in the spotlight on one hand, but don’t want to deal with what comes with it on the other hand.

The bigger you are the more haters you’ll have, she better ignore those haters and keep making music. I like her music and I don’t want to see her Lauryn Hill herself.
