Very debatable. But we can agree to disagree.

Bird has 3 rings (out of 5 Finals appearances); hit more clutch/game-winning shots; had better stats in his prime; held his own in his legendary rivalry against Magic; elevated his game and inspired his teammates to elevate theirs....I just don't see how people can have LeBron as the better SF when he's 2-4 in the Finals; won as a member of a super-team in a watered-down league; is nowhere near as clutch
Bird didn't play with HOFs for most of his prime? Lol at acting like he played with scrubs for his whole career.
The 80's didn't mostly consist of the Lakers and Celtics dominating? How was the parody in the 80's much different than now?
LeBron doesn't elevate team mate? Watch more basketball.

What does a finals record have to do with an individual match up as if LeBron played bad in all those finals? Outside of 2011 which everyone can agree he played like shyt.

Then again I'm not expecting a Celtics fan to sound too bright on this topic.

DIfferent phases of their careers. He played with prime Parish and Kevin Mchale :dahell:

...aaand they beat:

the Lakers with prime Magic and Worthy, and McAdoo, Wilkes, and Kareem
the Pistons with prime Isaiah, Dumars, and young Rodman
the Bulls with prime Jordan and Scottie
the Rockets with prime Moses Malone and Calvin Murphy
the Rockets later with prime Hakeem and Ralph Sampson

so why you actin' like there were no other stacked teams during that era?
That's not his fault, they just beat who played 'em...

No, its not debatable. No one actually debates this. Its your bias as a Celtics fan. Im not a Lebron fan, nor am I a Cavs fan, so Im looking at this objectively. And theres not a debate for Bird being better than Lebron. So you can disagree, which is fine. But you'd just be wrong.

; is nowhere near as clutch

Stats say otherwise. Lebron is clutch.

.I just don't see how people can have LeBron as the better SF when he's 2-4 in the Finals

He took that 2007 Cavs team to the finals. With LARRY HUGHES as his second option against a great spurs team. In his 4th year.

; won as a member of a super-team in a watered-down league

Bird was apart of a super team as well, in a different era, with different rules and defenses.

Bird has 3 rings (out of 5 Finals appearances);

Lebron has 2 rings. Hes not done. I dont hold the 2007 shyt over his head. Because I mean, lets be real :yeshrug:

Have you ever seen Larry Bird play in his prime?

Stats say otherwise. Lebron is clutch.

I said LeBron is not nearly as clutch as Bird, not that he wasn't clutch. Larry Bird gained a reputation as an assassin. LeBron is not the dude you want taking the final shot, mainly because he has an inconsistent outside jumper.

He took that 2007 Cavs team to the finals. With LARRY HUGHES as his second option against a great spurs team. In his 4th year.

Larry Hughes was a good 2 guard at that time. He also played with Zydrunas Ilgauskas (a top 5 center at the time).

But in the grand scheme of this debate, that doesn't matter.

Bird was apart of a super team as well, in a different era, with different rules and defenses.

OK but Bird was clearly the best player on the Celtics and, as stated in the OP, when he didn't play/missed time/missed the season, the Celtics weren't nearly as good. They went from #1 to #8 when Bird missed the 88-89 season, despite having all the other all-star players.

And you act like super teams didn't exist in Bird's era (see the Lakers, Rockets, Pistons, etc.).

Bron jumped ship TWICE to join super teams.

Lebron has 2 rings. Hes not done. I dont hold the 2007 shyt over his head. Because I mean, lets be real :yeshrug:

You wouldn't bet money that Bron wins another ring in his career as the primary player of his team. His window's been closing.

He'll make the Chris Anderson's, the Mo William's, and Varejao's of his team a lot better and far more serviceable than they have any right to be. Other superstars? He ruins them while taking away their sweet spots. Wade, Bosh, and Love all had their games marginalized from playing with Lebron.

Marginalized? You mean sharing the ball with other superstars means your role has to be reduced?? Who would have thought? :ohhh:

Making players better doesn't mean you put the ball in the hoop for them. It's like saying James Harden was ''marginalized'' on the Thunder.
