as an Umar critic, he just gave the most mature argument about reparations I've seen in this entire discourse

Khalid was an actual Black nationalist and not surprisingly much like Garvey and Malcolm were treated most Black people, who are broken integrationists, rejected him.

And so it would be with a focused Umar, who most Black people post memes of making light of his pro-Blackness.

And what he's suggesting are great ideas but they'd require discipline and focus for years to basically re-segregate large parts of the Black economy which these self haters have no interest in doing.

He brought that on himself, and even then most people who do post those memes find themselves agreeing with Umar more than they disagree with him. But at this point, the well has been poisoned and will be for some time.

It’s not like the venture for the school flopping how it did will do him any favors in the long haul. Much like with the bougie BLM blacks who stole money from that professor and her org, black advancement is in continious state of purgatory

But maybe its for the better

I literally watched the whole thing from the timestamp and man when you get past all the funny gifs and memes, dude's surgical and dead on with his wisdom at times.

The school thing is an albatross around the neck because dude's really correct about so many things in general.

Wish him well regardless

Being an egomaniac is his problem, but he was always clearly smart and well read. Also, his degree is real guys, my goodness, even the root guy had to fall back on that nonsense. And if Umar was frauding on his education, it would be some GOAT tier frauding. lol
honestly, thats why guys like tariq who are insecure about their education felt the need to attack.

just like Tone Talks.

Look Tone and Umar are obviously flawed people professionally, but...they have enough understanding broad swath to know enough realism when it sets in.

Tariq, as funny as I think he can be, is out here just trolling for the algorithm while his fans think he's gonna engage reparations politically or something.

I'll be shocked if he mentions this shyt in a year.

Nonsense.

1). Black people do save at comparable rates to whites but we also take care of more of our family members with the little money we do have in our pockets.
He's judging us by some negros buying Jordans and other nonsense that really doesn't contribute to the lack of Black wealth.

2). You cannot make yourself healthy in a society that has broken you and continues to find ways to undermine you and hurt you. You cannot make yourself healthy in a sick society. To suggest we put off reparations until that happens is downright ludicrous.

"No amount of money is going to stop Black women from not trusting Black men."

And neither will what he's suggesting, the problem is more complex and requires a lot of therapy that Black folk cannot get because we don't have money.

3). The government made white people rich despite constant infighting, killing, undermining, etc... White society doesn't love itself but the government surely made it wealthy by bolstering the middle class and investing in white folk.
The government invested in banks/white society. And the government made Black folks fail.

Dr. Umar doesn't know what he's talking about and isn't making sense.

look I'm not gonna defend osteopatic medicine, but his PhD is recognized basically anywhere in clinical psychology.
Osteopaths are licensed medical professionals I’m not disputing that I go and see one every month, it’s just interesting that Umar uses his medical degree in osteopathy to boost his credentials in other fields.

Multiple things can be true. You make some good points, as well...but get TF outta here wit this shyt. :camby:

Umar makes plenty sense, and HABITUALLY, makes plenty sense. He's obviously, highly-educated, well-read, and well-versed, on the topics, he talks about. You're on here, tryin to match wits, thru an online forum. Make it make sense. :mjlol:

Thats the problem with modern society. Just because you disagree with someone doesn't make their points nonsense or ludicrous. The whole point of discussion, argument and disagreement is to gain extra knowledge, each person putting their points and opinions forward so that we can refine and learn from the points that others make. No one comes in with a bullet proof argument off jump, but people act like seeing any flaws (or percieved flaws) in their statements means that you have to denigrate and put them down. Umar made his opinion known and brought his own understanding of the situation and the best way forward in his opinion. No one has a magic crystal ball that can tell what can or will happen. You disagree, thats cool. I'd like to read more about how you think reparations should be paid out, in what form and timescale, and how you think that will lead to permanent improvements in black society.
