as an Umar critic, he just gave the most mature argument about reparations I've seen in this entire discourse

A LOT of people make great arguments for reparations.

There are also a LOT of people who walk the walk they talk. Umar unfortunately has not proven to be one of them. His problem has never been articulation. His overwhelming problem has been tangible execution of ideas. Some call it ineptitude, others scamming, whatever you call it, he’s proven that he’s mostly just a bunch of good words :manny:

Hell, any person who has a website that looks like this in 2022 is not worth the weight of their words: Dr.UmarJohnson.com

Nonsense.

1). Black people do save at comparable rates to whites but we also take care of more of our family members with the little money we do have in our pockets.
He's judging us by some negros buying Jordans and other nonsense that really doesn't contribute to a decline or negative Black wealth disparity.

2). You cannot make yourself healthy in a society that has broken you and continues to find ways to undermine you and hurt you. You cannot make yourself healthy in a sick society. To suggest we put off reparations until that happens is downright ludicrous.

"No amount of money is going to stop Black women from not trusting Black men."

And neither will what he's suggesting, the problem is more complex and requires a lot of therapy that Black folk cannot get because we don't have money.

3). The government made white people rich despite constant infighting, killing, undermining, etc... White society doesn't love itself but the government surely made it wealthy by bolstering the middle class and investing in white folk.
The government invested in banks/white society. And the government made Black folks fail.

Dr. Umar doesn't know what he's talking about and isn't making sense.

Pretty much agree and I'm against the no vote no tangibles absolutist. Umar does make some cogent points though. Its a shame he couldn't overcome his own ego. He needs to do some inner work and develop himself.

*finally watching* It's a range of shyt I could say-- oh shyt, he just got to reducing reparations to dollars so there's that.

The internet ass movements (ADOS/FBA) have made an absolute joke out reparations and identity. "Reparations" is nothing more than cash for centuries of dehumanization. We're talking about something that hindered generations of our people and people will seriously say "cut the check (to me and my generation)" and if people blow their money then "oh well, that's on them"-- which part of REPAIRations is that??? :what:

Then there's the "lineage" bullshyt where "lineage" is apparently nothing more than creating acronyms and boasting how we were here first while Black immigrants "fled". It speaks nothing to our communities, supporting our own, our relations with one another. I've never once heard talk about drill rappers or drug dealers harming our lineage, let the next Pepsi girl be a "tether" tho and all hell breaks loose. Some will even talk this "lineage" shyt and simultaneously endorse that red pill, SYSBM bullshyt as if that's not in direct opposition to eliminating said lineage :gucci: its wild

So we just gon ignore this? Ight then :dead:

Exactly! This dude(s) Nap is just using Umar and the fact that he has a legion of fickle followers on this board to try to shoehorn his love for his politicians and political pundits onto the rest of us.

It's like feeding a peanut butter stuffed pretzel nugget to someone that you know likes pretzels but is indifferent to peanut butter in hopes that their love for pretzels will allow them to come around to the peanut butter stuffed inside.

Dude(s) kept getting bushed for being direct with the Democrat dikk riding so he came back for Volume 14 on some backdoor villain type shıt.

Real ones see real things :myman:

this. We the only group being told that reparations is should be some kind of "spiritual" or "symbolic" paycheck.

and these motherfukkers never miss a chance to pull that "they'll just buy weed, weave, and jordans" argument. If that was the case white america would pay reparations since they know they'll get that money right back and shut us up.

Osteopaths are licensed medical professionals I’m not disputing that I go and see one every month, it’s just interesting that Umar uses his medical degree in osteopathy to boost his credentials in other fields.
I think that’s just the name of the school and probably their man thing is producing DOs but they offer other degrees like PharmD, and other PhD degrees.

This should really be obvious. They know not everyone is gonna be reckless with the money and could possibly make moves they don't want being made

That's not true, wealthy nikkas just ain't reinvesting back to their communities as they should/could because they fall prey to the materialistic nature of capitalism same as the black people that can't afford therapy.

It'll change someday, hopefully.

Somebody, I forgot who it is, on this very forum once reminded me that black people aren't as destitute as they believe themselves to be. The power and the money of the black community exists, it's just not being allocated properly.
