as an Umar critic, he just gave the most mature argument about reparations I've seen in this entire discourse

No one suggested that it was supposed to be easy or fair or to simply ask for reparations.

Dr. Umar can talk but he hasn't solved one problem.
stop being emotional about this.

Even when rich people sell off critical stocks or assets, they have to take an L in some form in an undervaluation or otherwise because they know they're asking for someone to save their asses.

Can't come to the table with an even longer list of unfulfilled demands. You have to step to the table as strong as possible.

During the Qatar vs Senegal game earlier today, the commentator claimed Qatar has a football academy that entice young African players with scholarships & with the hope of naturalising the good ones to take Qatari citizenship & play for them in future.

That's interesting.
its interesting, if not fukked up since Qatari society is so ... fukked up but, they play for keeps over there.

I agree with Umar on this.

Probably the biggest issue with Black folks everywhere. Our mind has to be addressed

*finally watching* It's a range of shyt I could say-- oh shyt, he just got to reducing reparations to dollars so there's that.

The internet ass movements (ADOS/FBA) have made an absolute joke out reparations and identity. "Reparations" is nothing more than cash for centuries of dehumanization. We're talking about something that hindered generations of our people and people will seriously say "cut the check (to me and my generation)" and if people blow their money then "oh well, that's on them"-- which part of REPAIRations is that??? :what:

Then there's the "lineage" bullshyt where "lineage" is apparently nothing more than creating acronyms and boasting how we were here first while Black immigrants "fled". It speaks nothing to our communities, supporting our own, our relations with one another. I've never once heard talk about drill rappers or drug dealers harming our lineage, let the next Pepsi girl be a "tether" tho and all hell breaks loose. Some will even talk this "lineage" shyt and simultaneously endorse that red pill, SYSBM bullshyt as if that's not in direct opposition to eliminating said lineage :gucci: its wild
the internet made it too easy for certain people to speak.... I'll say that....

That's not true, wealthy nikkas just ain't reinvesting back to their communities as they should/could because they fall prey to the materialistic nature of capitalism same as the black people that can't afford therapy.

It'll change someday, hopefully.

Somebody, I forgot who it is, on this very forum once reminded me that black people aren't as destitute as they believe themselves to be. The power and the money of the black community exists, it's just not being allocated properly.
Not even that. Theres not even that many black wealthy people.

See, we have athletes, entertainers, and SOME black successful execs. THATS IT.

Everyone else just has a well paid JOB.

Thats not wealth, its not independence, and its not "community".

People confuse "making it" with "thriving" and it's not remotely the same thing.

My personal timeline is full of people with masters and PhD's...but they're just HIGHLY PAID. We're all paychecks away from poverty and we still have to work.

And none of us truly control the infrastructure or have the necessary levers to truly enact the sweeping change to actually seriously push for this shyt.

No.

Stop reposting a book you ain't read.

The "need" for reparations is not the same as a "plan" for reparations.

The reason so many people latch onto this is because it's an easy and sexy single-solution that doesn't require any work from those advocating for it.

You can't address the mind if the environment is still the same.

No.

I bought the book and I did read it.

I don't have time to engage in a pointless debate with you. You have made several baseless assumptions, went off on a tangent that has no real relation to the topic, gave a poor analogy, etc...

It suggested to me you don't have any idea of what you're talking about which is why I told you to refer to post #47.

No, I will keep posting the book for those who don't know why reparations is needed and want better information. You stop posting dumb topics of failed Pan-Africanists who don't know what they are talking about.

a study on the impact of reparations is not "how to get reparations"

A LOT of people make great arguments for reparations.

There are also a LOT of people who walk the walk they talk. Umar unfortunately has not proven to be one of them. His problem has never been articulation. His overwhelming problem has been tangible execution of ideas. Some call it ineptitude, others scamming, whatever you call it, he’s proven that he’s mostly just a bunch of good words :manny:

Hell, any person who has a website that looks like this in 2022 is not worth the weight of their words: Dr.UmarJohnson.com

:dead:

Speaking of his website out of curiosity I got on to see his archives for the videos he mentions in part 2 of this video and the drumartv link does not work. I also peeped the price of his book and it is 75 dollars smh... this guy has the gift of gab but he's still clearly on his grift.

You need a study so that you know where to go next. If not, you become susceptible to the smooth talking pie in the sky ideas of failed Pan-Africanists that believe they will create Pan-African soldiers at their school that still needs an HVAC after 5 years of begging for donations.

Why are you asking for what you’re not prepared to receive?
