A couple months ago there was a video that went viral of this lady at a train station (I think in the Bronx) showing how she chains herself to posts with a bike lock and doesn't unlock it until the train arrives to avoid this exact situation. Smart solution but it's sad people even gotta think like that. Even worse that it's a common fear among riders.

why are the homeless and the mentally ill roving about in the subway? address and solve that and these types of crimes drops drastically, like over 90%. get these people the help they need and get them housing so they're not living on trains or in the subway stations.

people want to act shocked that something like this can happen when something like this is inevitable especially with the amount of people with these issues society has chosen to ignore.

yes this man committed a heinous crime but this is a symptom of a much larger problem and similar crimes will keep happening until the government addresses the underlying conditions that ferment these tragedies.
Y'all really be talking without saying anything:
"But but... we have to identify the CORE problem. And once we identify that and solve that then the problem will be solved!!"

Vague, unactionable truisms that makes people feel insightful and gets daps, but nothing else.

Everyone knows already. The reality is we have to balance it in an environment of politics, budgets, and limited resources. Just fighting the perception that treating symptoms (policing, jailing and punishing) is a zero sum game vs treating core issues (poverty, mental health) is a neverending battle. And it unfortunately colors everything we do. The answer is obviously "do both" but everyone wants to pick one based on their politics, their tribe, the race of the victim and the race of the perpetrator.

That's too much. When I take the Subway in Toronto I never let anyone stand behind me. The platforms are narrow. No barriers. We have had pushing incidents.

Coincidentally enough last year an Asian man was pushed to death randomly. Years priors there's been other incidents and also people jumping. Besides that there's been people attacking others on the platform.

During the pandemic the subways have become filled with homeless. First time I've ever seen someone casually smoking crack on a full train. Tons of people sleeping. The most beggers as well. And these are train lines leaving downtown. shyt got crazy

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
That’s New York problem..down south you rarely rub shoulders with bums.

We good and fukk the poor. America gives way too much as it is. We blame everything on lack of resources but I have traveled the world and the poor is never as violent as the poor in America.

Actually I read your previous post and it sounds to me you are a retard that’s just talking gibberish. I’ve been to Atlanta and many cities down south before and in almost every area that has lots of people you definitely rub shoulders with bums.

Maybe you’re a welfare recipient that just hangs out at Publix everyday.

in my neighborhood I have almost never seen a homeless person wandering around.

No. He's from Haiti.

It matters because Black Americans are the ones who are going to get blamed for this.

You do realize cacs look at us all the same?
I work with cacs and they don't give a flying fukk who's haitian, Jamaican, ghanian or Nigerian.

Even "black American" is a false concept to them. They believe this is their country , not yours

Was watching the news and Michelle Go did a lot of volunteer work with the NY junior league which helps homeless and other people get them back on their feet.

I live in ATL, I still see them, even now than the last 5 years. The wealth disparity and lack of concern for the poor make the situation different in US. Being dehumanized can be prove bad for your mental.

You got different platform types and the trains still work yet you think it's impossible to come up with any type of barrier, or different barrier types for different stations, to prevent people from the train? :francis:
Yeah, because unless they're gonna have it for every station, no one will support it, and no one will support it because the ones paying for it will be the taxpayers.

Chambers Street looks like Disney World for rats, but let's give Times Square barriers. I'm sure they'd love to assure tourists of their safety and have the nice stations in Midtown fully protected, but that won't save someone who lives on 149th in the Bronx and will get shoved onto the tracks by some dumbass teenagers who just wanna see some fukked up shyt.

Besides, these people out here doing this shyt will look for another way to hurt you. Why wouldn't a homeless person just shove someone at the top of a staircase? There was a story not too long ago about that dude in Brooklyn who shoved the shyt out of a lady down an escalator.

Well,:unimpressed: that's what I said, but I don't think that differs from any race in the world though whenever someone does something wrong. The distinction itself is pointless, if Black Americans are gonna get blamed anyway there is no point in promoting FBA shyt because nobody cares.

thats why i never stand near the ledge, you dont know whose behind you

Multiplayer games have taught me to never rely on others, you should instead come up with a plot to mitigate risk, especially from the actions of others that might have you and your team decimated.

why do they fail to realize this :snoop: they will say being prominent & successful doesn’t change the fact that you’re black or being a certain shade doesn’t change that you’re black… but being from a different country is the divider.
