It was on the vehicle when I bought it used

That doesnt tell me much...If you can remove it yourself then any body shop can repaint it and you can put it back on or you could have them do it

The reason i ask if its plastic is because the plastic itself under the paint may be cracking cos of age and sunlight...If thats the case dont waste time painting just replace it

If its aftermarket the cost of a new one is probably way less than having it repainted at rates of $150/hr

Ok yeah I can't remove it, I'm going to trade it in in the fall anyways I just hate looking at it like that. I should have taken care of it 2 yrs ago when it first started happening

:francis: ..if its Factory spec torque like on Head bolts or manifolds you shouldnt use an impact AT ALL...youll drive the nut too fast and too hard (PAUSE) to control...Use a manual torque wrench
If you want speed try using a cordless drill to drive the nut/bolt in because most drills have very low torque then finish with the torque wrench

800 ftlbs of tourque...there should be no auto bolt that can resist this and its only $250

If that cant do it you were gonna need a grinder or cutting torch anyway
thnaks.. most bolts are only torqued to less than 250 ftlb anyways

:krs: I got one of those...The US made ones are actually the best value in Large luxury sedans...

Anyway..First off german engineering is :blessed: BUT The way i see it Every german manufacturer has their specialty and you want to buy within that specialty

Mercedes benz specialty is Large Luxury sedans S class E class ,Limousines , overpriced G class SUV.....but when they try to make cheap shyt they end up with total trash like the C class,M class and now the A class:scust:

BMW...Specialty was coupes and sport sedans..the iconic 3 series and 5 series ...They have finally got the SUV thing right with the new x3s and X 5s

Volkswagen ..Its right in their name cars for the average Volks(people) They are the best at economy sedans..... jetta ,Golf, Passat,minivans,Beetle.....You wanna stay away from their SUVs ,they use the same platform and parts as the Porsche cayenne so you get poor reliability and high maintenance costs:trash:

Audi..Luxury sedans and coupes A4,A6,A8 .........Like VW (since they are owned by vw you wanna avoid their SUV for the very same reasons :trash:)
so your telling me my dream suv the porsche cayenne is terrible?! :mjcry:

even the toureg and the audi trucks suck? they got the best looking trucks by far. what type of suv should a young gawd get? i was looking at the navigator or the expedition?
