There are so many things that I hate about hip hop that has permeated black culture it makes me sick to even think about it.
-the idea that to be black in America you have to be from the hood or embody some hood element and if you're not...you're not authentically "black"
-the embrace of ignorance and anti-intellectualism
-it's love and support of the lowest dregs of society (criminals, strippers, drug dealers, pimps, prostitutes, gangsters, etc)
-it's Peter Pan "never grow" up mentality that has grown ass men acting like teenagers instead of...grown ass men.
-the embrace of "ratchet" culture
-the idea that anything that's outside of that spectrum is not black and anything that they do that is in that makes that person "not black" or "wanting to be white"...which is straight up crab in the barrel stuff...shooting down the progress of your own people just because Andre who still lives with his mom in the hood at 32 and never graduated high school and many like him don't like it out of contempt, bitterness, and jealousy...
There's more but I'll stop here.
