Capitalism....they need a way to increase earnings and the ukraine war gave them a perfect excuse.

These companies are recording record profits while they been talking about "if we increase the minimum wage then you have to pay for it" for the last 20 years.

And people wonder why some have to steal from walmart.....alot of people are trying to survive out here.
Inflation and war. Those corporate profits went up and prices will never come down

I'm seeing deep dips on the shyt they were price gouging us on a few months ago (eggs, milk, chicken, certain produce, etc) because people flat out stopped buying or scaled back how much they bought of those items and they were left to rot or be donated.

Meanwhile I'm seeing absurd increases in everything else. Especially the little staples that you used to throw in your cart without even having to really think about it before.

I've also noticed a heavy price increase on things like lunch meat, bread, cheese, chips/snacks and frozen meals. All things that parents typically purchase in abundance in preparation for their kid's upcoming summer break. Weird.

It's looking a lot like the corps realized their mistake in overcharging their customers in meat and dairy this past year but they're addicted to the massive profits so they pivoted to price gouging for everything else.

We're at a point where it's almost no longer cheaper to cook and eat at home tbh. Especially if you're single and with no kids.

It's not cheaper that going with a meal prep company though.
That's what I do, 120$ a week and I get 9 high protein complete full meals.
And not like those meal prep companies that give you a small box and you still hungry, i'm talking about a full ass meal, cause I got a big appetite.
What meal prep company do you use?

You can make 9 high protein, nutritious complete meals a week for less than $120. Where the fukk some of ya'll living?

And at this point there's alot of exaggeration in this thread. Prices are still a bit up but they ain't been as crazy these past few months. At least not in NY.

Restaurant Depot prices went up and it's still cheaper than what you get in the regular grocery store. A lot of ya'll probably live near food wholesalers and don't even know it. I even got some farms I can go to or get things shipped from if need be.
They have one by me, is it like Costco in that you have to buy a membership to go in?

They can't cook. That's the issue.. It's not a coli thing, it's a generational thing. Two things

1. They can't shop. They don't know how to buy ingredients that can be stretched for several meals. They don't coupon shop. They don't comparison shop. They don't shop at multiple stores to get one grocery list done. shyt our parents did

2. They can't cook. They know about 3-4 recipes tops. So after they run through that, they want something new and they can't cook it... Nor can they shop for it properly.. So somehow it becomes cheaper to buy fast food 5 times a week vs cooking 5 times a week.

What's sad is... And I know it's sexist... But it's really sad that women have lost these two talents. I expect young bachelors to not know shyt. But how you 35, still eating out every night, broke, talking bout it's cheaper. Like what are the kids even eating?
