I'm seeing deep dips on the shyt they were price gouging us on a few months ago (eggs, milk, chicken, certain produce, etc) because people flat out stopped buying or scaled back how much they bought of those items and they were left to rot or be donated.

Meanwhile I'm seeing absurd increases in everything else. Especially the little staples that you used to throw in your cart without even having to really think about it before.

I've also noticed a heavy price increase on things like lunch meat, bread, cheese, chips/snacks and frozen meals. All things that parents typically purchase in abundance in preparation for their kid's upcoming summer break. Weird.

It's looking a lot like the corps realized their mistake in overcharging their customers in meat and dairy this past year but they're addicted to the massive profits so they pivoted to price gouging for everything else.

We're at a point where it's almost no longer cheaper to cook and eat at home tbh. Especially if you're single and with no kids.

Same. I noticed prices went back to normal on a few items when I went shopping last week.

They can't cook. That's the issue.. It's not a coli thing, it's a generational thing. Two things

1. They can't shop. They don't know how to buy ingredients that can be stretched for several meals. They don't coupon shop. They don't comparison shop. They don't shop at multiple stores to get one grocery list done. shyt our parents did

2. They can't cook. They know about 3-4 recipes tops. So after they run through that, they want something new and they can't cook it... Nor can they shop for it properly.. So somehow it becomes cheaper to buy fast food 5 times a week vs cooking 5 times a week.

What's sad is... And I know it's sexist... But it's really sad that women have lost these two talents. I expect young bachelors to not know shyt. But how you 35, still eating out every night, broke, talking bout it's cheaper. Like what are the kids even eating?
shyt like this lets me know a lot people have no sense of nuance or understanding in terms of the reality most people are living in.

Do they really not know how to 'comparison shop' or do they just live in areas where there's one grocery store?

Also, using coupons often leads to overspending and subsequently hoarding unless you have a large family or network of very needy individuals.

Unless you think I'm discussing a bunch of hood rats, they do not know how to shop... Look no further than this thread and many others like it... I mean really. You have a car. You telling me there are NO other places to buy food in a 20-30 minute radius?

Yea if you living in the trap, I get it. Hell I grew up broke. A visit to the dollar tree is nothing. But we ain't talking about them. We talking about people who got money and time to hit up fast food and restaurants all week AND calculate that it's cheaper to do so.

They definitely got access. And if you spending more from couponing, then again, you ain't doing it right. This should be budgeted and figured out before you even leave the house. This is an education problem. People don't know how to cook, shop or save

Frozen nuggets $10-$15. Frozen fries $10. Box of chips $10-$15. All of my staple after school pre-dinner items have gone up. I spent almost $300 on groceries this weekend.

:damn:

Publix is useless without BOGO
I’m one of those people that like to get certain types of groceries from certain places. I can make that bogo work then go to another place to buy fruits and veggies and shyt. You got to be a bargain shopper now, them extreme couponers showed us the game years ago
