Those “3 salads for work” probably totaled $28-$35 (40-50% of the total) if you’re shopping at a decent/ higher end grocer.

I was the same way. My “fast food” is chipotle, panera bread, etc. If I don’t feel like cooking I’m buying a $15 salad because it’s still healthy and the ingredients are fresh (fresher than actual fast food spots).

But you know what I realized? I can go buy a huge container of salad, throw it in my salad spinner to wash/dry it, and that’s enough salad to last for a WEEK! Lunch & dinner. After that I just make my proteins (seafood, poultry, etc ), and decide what or if I want carbs with lunch or dinner.

Meal planning in the long run is cheaper. My grocery bill is higher, but I have all the fruits, veggies and meat I need. Not to mention you can run to the store mid week to get extra veggies/fruits as needed. NO RESTAURANTS/FAST FOOD.

I wanted chipotle this weekend as my cheat meal. Instead of buying chipotle, I shredded the baked chicken I made the previous day, and picked up some black beans, sour cream and tortilla chips at the grocery store. Already had corn, rice, salad, chicken, avocado, red onions, tomatoes, etc

Delicious and healthier than chipotle because, of course, it had less sodium 🧂 (although I won’t lie and pretend I don’t like salt :umad:).

I’ll get some bell peppers so I can add “fajitas” when I do it again 😆

People just lazy .. I eat bass/trout everyday.. for free cause I catch it ony boat

I was with a philipino girl in my early 20s she would go back to her province to her family

They eat BUGS.. live on dirt floors

McDonald's was a status symbol to her
Yea, but you have to factor in her background. If she was a Filipina from a well-off family her frame of reference wouldn’t be bugs/living on dirt floors.

There are definitely issues with stagnant wages and ever-increasing prices, but there are also habits that can be changed to help us deal with these things.

Translation: stop being a lazy bytch and learn to shop and cook properly. Prices are still bad, but the rape will be much gentler.

Everyone can do this... They know they can.. They been hearing about it since they were a kid and "We got McDonald's at home!"

What they don't want to admit is, they are lazy as fukk and also love McDonald's. The only reason they don't want the burgers and fries at home is because they don't taste as good as the ones at McDonald's

Went to the grocery store earlier.

Chicken breast were 1.99 a lb.
Cheese was buy 2 get 3 free
Frozen veggies were 4 for 5.
Eggs were 2.19.
Big brown rice box is always on sale.

I dunno, maybe y'all just don't cook.
