"Finding yourself" is for overprivileged white people who have no ambition and don't have to work hard. This aint no Wonder Years, Kevin Arnold-ass nikka.

Anyway, in terms of knowing who I am, I'd say maybe 22. I've realized I don't give a fukk about having a family--it's overrated and not for me--and that I'm very materialistic and love money. Therefore, I highly doubt I'm getting married, and if I do, I'm damn sure not having kids because they suck up too much income and will distract me from my career.

You don't want to leave a legacy?

There is no such thing as finding yourself.
You are who you create.
Self is not estranged in some Brazilian rainforest.
Waiting on you to travel abroad from the sewers like Leonardo in a tmnt movie.

Self is you.
If you are black, in America.
You may have difficulties ever creating a monetarily successful self.
Yet that should not prohibit you from creating selfworth of high value.
self worth is not built upon monetary gain or spoils, either.

When I was 19 I started a new journey. I started to lose everyone I cared about-- mainly to violence. A friend of the family gave me X's autobiography, and I haven't been the same since. Started looking at life from a different angle, excelling in college, and trying to find meaning in this crazy world.

By the time I was twenty two.
I had lost every relevant person to my life content wise and socially.
Plus had a career I built from the ground up stolen from me.
Of which sent me into post traumatic shock for close to eight years.
so, I know what type of journey and content you sought out and I am glad you found something to help you cope.

If not for my sociological background from college.
I would have perished.

Life is the struggle to survive.

Value, that only.

25 and i'm 25 now... I kust realized I would never be rich, my long time girlfriend gets on my fukking nerves and friendships with nikkas from the hood are worthless. I have accepted this and things are finally starting to brighten up for a g. I have come to grips with a life of mediocrity, I got a decent home, a car, and a few stacks in the bank with little debt, i'm cool with that.

Unless I'm making 400k a year, the costs outweigh the benefits. Legacy building is kind of silly anyway because you won't be alive to see it.

I just mean a familial legacy of having a son (or a daughter :scusthov:). You don't want to leave a part of yourself on this Earth? :yeshrug: That's my only reason for wanting a child. Other than that, you're right, they're a huge money pit.

I also assume that having a child would probably make me step my life game up... but that's a huge gamble if it backfires. :noah:

I don't see why that matters. Like I said, once I'm gone, I'm not gonna be aware of my genes no longer existing anyway :manny:

How can you come to such an absolute realization at only 25? People don't even hit the peak of their career until their mid-40s and here you are already writing off the possibility of wealth. Makes no sense :wow:

I think u can never truly "find yourself". People are constantly evolving. U learn new things, u meet new people, and u have new experiences that constantly change u whether u notice or not.

I dropped out of college (was majoring in business administration, didn't like that shyt) at 21. Worked at Motel 6 sellin' rooms to drug dealers and prostitutes. I was a manager and still wasn't getting paid shyt :to:. I had that "this can't be life" moment. Knew I wasn't going anywhere in the long run.

Quit that shyt and broke up with this mexcian annoying drama b!tch. I went through some lame jobs working at Target, Best Buy, and even at 7-11 :laff:. Out of no where I decided to work at a school helping kids with Autism at 24. I really liked that shyt and decided to go back to school and am working on my degree in child development.

Stopped following my religion around the same time. Started investing in my future and yeah that's about it. Trying to score that government job and get linked up with that teachers union contract and :eat: till I retire once I get in.

Experimenting with different career options, understanding your perspective about the world, having self-regulation, and being goal orientated is key in finding your true identity.
