I used to be a security guard. If you not a level 3 it's hard to make good money.
What do you want to do?
Right now, it pays the bills. I'm unarmed. I'm changing fields tho(CDL). So that'll bring in more income, but I've always wanted to get into law enforcement(it's my dream career). I just want to get my family into that beautiful 2 story home with a nice backyard

It’s funny how we calling ourselves and each other average when you had to be exceptionally lucky or strong to even get to fertilize the egg you came from, and you being alive rn is beating like almost every other animal on earth’s lifespan

We’re all exceptional, it’s just the lives we live under this asiatic-caucizoid society that makes us feel average, but ask yourself

how can YOU really be average when people are out here polluting the oceans and crops and air we need to live, destroying whol countries and populations for trivial reasons, raising billions to trillions of dollars selling guns, drugs, people, and anything else that leads to doom and darkness?

As long as you have the will to live, and survive you’re doing a great job even if you’re life sucks because every being’s prerogative on this earth is to LIVE.

Just wanted to say something motivational at least, you’re only as average as you think you are but sometimes that’s good to feel when you want to do better (like I need to up my weights for example lol)

Internet and technology in general has been the great equalizer for black folks to build wealth. Do not get discouraged if that's what you want

CDL is the way to go. More pay and easier to move up depending on what type of CDL

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
6 Figure is a dream to most and the ceiling for the rest of us. :francis:

Even at 6 figures, for most that's a nice crib, car and clothes. Dine out and travel a little bit. But it's far from having enough money to invest or flip it into something that's life changing. 401k plans, a good job might let you be able to relax a little bit at 65.

But for some reason we think Wealth is in our future. :mjlol:

I think once we all realizing we all average to can come together, maybe married, pull together and maybe build towards living better.
:patrice:

Define average?

6 figures is above average.

Being retired at 40 is above average...

I still feel I have more run way.
This is the second year in a row that I'll make 120K+
Next year will be less due to a position change which will allow for a higher celing
in the long run.
If I continue on the path I'm on, my salary will go quite high, will I make $1 million dollars
a year or some crazy shyt ? NO! But $150K? $175K? This is very attainable for someone like me
inside of half a decade.

I also disagree that 100K IS NOT the path to wealth.
IF you make 100K but live like you make 55K and eliminate your debts, regularly invest and
focus on growing your portfolio then inside of a decade you could be well on your way to "Real" wealth.
I'm in a stable enough to position to be able to focus on m hobbies and the things I love
while also having potential for real career growth at the company I work for.

However, I'm in the middle of deciding if I want to fully commit to moving up the corporate ladder or trying to
exit to another field entirely, a field that I feel I have more than enough intelligence to excel in and will
offer A LOT more than the ceiling in my currently industry ($200K for most)

everyone situation different but nobody should ever give up. things can change and opportunities come often. it's all about your mentality. it's not a race between you and everyone else but just you vs you. don't compare yourself to others cuz then you might get discouraged and give up. also can't fall into that work, work, work mentality cuz that'll burn you out. find ways to make your money work for you or multiple avenues of income. but never give up hope. things can get better.
