Why are you a theist and when did you become one?
:ufdup:Now you know how this shyt's gonna end. You'll have to disprove her faith which she'll hide in like a blanket, if it even gets that far. When a theist starts quoting their book as though that's supposed to be proof of anything, it's time to haul ass.

Can you theists please stop acting like athiests are a cohesive unit or religion. The only concrete thing we have in common is that we don't believe in a god. The commandments in op are from submissions from only 2800 people :comeon:, there are millions of atheists.
All atheists don't hate god/religion. & to whoever said that soon they'll be a church of atheism, that shyt makes no sense :snoop:

Can you atheists stop lumping all theists together?

So what you're saying is you can't be sure one way or another.

I don't believe in everything in the Bible and I've always found the phrase "and then God rested" a bit strange. I know a guy who believes it was literally 6 days, like 6 human earth days. Blew my mind.

I also believe it was 6 days but the Quran teaches that time is relative:

[Quran 32.5] (Allah) Rules the cosmic affair from the heavens to the Earth. Then this affair travels to Him a distance in one day, at a measure of one thousand years of what you count.

So for example did you know that since it was discovered Pluto still hasn't been around the sun once, so Pluto hasn't had a full year as we know it.

People go deep into looking for proof but I think it's about finding enough (the Quran challenges you to go and learn) and for me on a personal level it's about being okay with going on faith because that's what believing in a creator ultimately is. The Jews even after they saw the red sea parted for them eventually turned around and said they wanted to see God and made a cow god from gold.
You can't be sure about god because god isn't something that can be proved or disproved (which is why I hate when people attribute things to that, its a cop out). But I can say beyond a reasonable doubt that none of the gods in human religions are true.
& the time is relative things just sounds like some mental gymnastics to try to prove your point. Everything in these religous works are talking about phenomenom that occur on Earth and have to do with humans. To now assume that were talking about days on another planet is intellectually dishonest without some sort of proof.

the fact is that we're all born agnostic, and then people get brainwashed into believing different religions, with no evidence of any of them

atheists can stand back and realize that

Are you saying you are absolutely certain that there is no creator? That is an atheist and that is why I find them arrogant and difficult to hold a conversation with them because in that case there is nothing to say.

@Commander in Chiefin I don't believe Jesus died but about the virgin birth that is very simple when you believe that man was created in the first place. That's just another creation

From the few posts before mine, the theists were talking about atheists as a monolithic group. In this situation, it was appropriate to lump them together because they were doing the exact same thing

If I can just get one person to open her eyes, then I've succeeded :wow:

no, im saying im absolutely certain no human knows what that thing is (if it exsits), because none of you possess that knowledge because you read a religious text. no human possesses any knowledge about god that other humans do not, until they die

as far as arrogance, let me go out on a limb and guess you're a christian (:skip:). do you not find it ARROGANT to 'know' that the rest of the world who doesnt accept jesus as salvation is going to hell? you dont find it arrogant to 'know' that every other religion is wrong, but you guys are right because you're special?

because the alternative is that you actually dont need jesus, rendering your religion and jesus unimportant. so which is it?

Are you excited for Santa tomorrow night ? :skip:

And how am I arrogant to look at both sides of the fence and decide to go with science which has proven facts ? Choosing logic is arrogance now ?

Lol nikka, you know who da fukk you talkin too? :what:

lol no need to get so serious. We are under no obligation to talk to one another. Peace out and have a lovely day

@Napoleon it's called faith for a reason. If you're asking to see your creator so you may believe then that means you're running really low on that crucial ingredient. If you are asking for things to build that faith then there are plenty. Religious texts are one of those things and for me that's the Quran. There are also signs and warnings all around us. You know how strange it is for you to see people like me, educated and understand what the scientific method is and yet choose to believe in a creator, you only have to flip it on its side and you might begin to understand how weirder it is for me to know that you see everything I do and still believe it was all by chance.

I was born a believer just as I believe you were, as you grow older you have to question and reason. For me it was through learning Christianity that I became a Muslim by choice. Not believing in God is not something that comes naturally to me, like I'd have to go out of my way to dismiss everything I know and I can't unknow it.

As for the relativity of time, someone made the comment on that point specifically so I answered their question. It's not time on another planet, that was my example. But like I keep telling all of you, it comes down to faith, are you honestly as an individual wanting to find that answer, are you open to learning or have you made up your mind?
