He talking about in the hood my baby. There’s no doubt Gucci was the mixtape King from 2007-till the end of 09. If you wasn’t there you wouldn’t understand.
ThisGucci kept it super hood and ignorant
What a stupid post:mjzooted:nikkas was bumping Gucci hard during a period.
But it is an L to me, you have that many fans he should be on Drake level of Billboard success
Jeezy did a lot of shyt for boosie tho and they made a hood classic togetherExactly. People who not in the hood and clubs, especially back then, don't realize artists like Gucci, Yo Gotti & Boosie may not have the mainstream aka White buyers but they were the most burned and listened to artists in the hood. That's why they still do sold out shows singing stuff from that era. They raised this current generation.
Jeezy never collaborated and switched up his style for commercial gain and acceptance. Most kids now have no clue who he is really.

Plus Jeezy from many people can kind of be a bit stand-offish and never really tried to put on any young Atlanta artists (see all the people from CTE that he really gave some kind of push to are out of state). Ralo was the biggest Jeezy fan and then he met him and said he was a "fukk nikka" and then he signed to Gucci.
On another note, they don't even pay homage to Pastor Troy either. He is an uncredited influence to a lot of ATL rappers. I would list Ghetto Mafia and Kilo, but a lot of these new rappers were like 5 or 6 when they were big in ATL. With Troy, he had a nice run in the '00's and you can hear him in some of Jeezy's style especially the ad libs.
Gucci had a better personality and put people on. While Gucci was putting people on, Jeezy was with white crips that said nikka

While Jeezy was falling off, Gucci was building his rep in the streets. His A&R game is better than JEEZY's at the end of the day.
Funny how the producers went on to do big things:
Zaytoven
Southside
Mike Will Made It
C4
Lex Luger
Metro Boomin
U can't call Gucci selfish
Shut upGucci Mane lowered the lyrical bar to caveman level. Plus he promoted tricking on another level, which I call it "Crimes against Masculinity!"
