Few posters in here describing accurately why I rarely watch those podcasts

@Piff Perkins, that was an excellent analogy. They sound so nerdy and out of touch. And not very sharp or self aware. it's fine to admire and cherish those days, but you have to have a grasp of the entirety of someone's career, not just revisit these subjects that are tired and over analyzed already. The FIRM reunion is just delusional. Like these guys are supposed to realize how impossible that would be, and how none of them are even interested. They did that on a Nas album, in 2020, and it was pretty dope.

AZ seems like the kind of dude you just have a rela convo with, but these dude was fishing for some quotes to use to get buzz.

This is why I miss Combat Jack, his interviews were real conversations and his music industry knowledge was deep.
And say what you want, but Juan Epstein is good at this too, as much as I dislike Peter Rosenberg

I think what AZ did was corny.

The questions asked are the things the fans want to know

We wanna know what he felt when Jay and Nas were going through it, how the studio sessions were when they were making the firm, etc etc

If u choose to be on these platforms, you should be able to answer these questions.
What questions? He gave answers then they asked the same thing three different ways. Just repeating themselves. That's why it was funny AZ asked if it was a question or they just talking. He was willing to answer everything they asked, they just didn't do a good job asking

And a firm reunion on a entire album would make no sense in 2024. The firm was about mafioso lyrics and sound, it's literally in the group name. The track they did on kings disease was great and nostalgic but it felt weird to hear them talk about grown man subject matter. That was a track with the 5 members but not a '' firm'' track per say. They insisted too much with a fan perspective and az tried to tell them there's a business aspect to this.
The reason the firm album was not the success it should have been in the first place is because of business issues too. A good interviewer would have felt that and not tried to push that

Hell a good interviewer could’ve gotten AZ to open up more about the business issues and how those issues still correlate in today’s industry and why its not a feasible proposition to suggest a full on reunion. I mean its just common fukking sense at this point, one of the core members literally LOST their hearing and as a result hasn’t released a full project in over TWENTY YEARS. I mean when is the last time anyone has even seen Foxy out in public?

Math wasn't really a AZ fan.

The dred dude is one of those wanna be purist and homie far from that.

The fact AZ went to School with Jay. They skipped passed all that content and history. The fact that A never got outshined on a song is wild for them not to bring it up.
