Wow. On the recommendation from this thread I listened to Bag Fuel for the first time. AZ definitely opened up more on that platform. Not sure if it's because he liked them more or because this was the first of many interviews he had scheduled.

He was not standoffish on Bag Fuel.

He seemed annoyed on Maths show.

Haven’t watched the whole interview so I could be off base here

Math is generally a good interviewer in my opinion, he’s very personable (I’ve met him twice) and tends to be a good listener. He does ask provocative questions and leans into clickbait topics but I think that’s the way of the world/ content these days, not Math’s cardinal sin

However the homie sitting next to math with dreadlocks seems to commandeer the conversation and makes it about HIS questions for AZ, not AZ dropping his own insight/ knowledge

So take what I mentioned above and add in the fact it’s a group of interviewers ganging up on AZ, who is pretty reserved to begin with, and I could see this particular episode being a dud.

I hope Math is cognizant of this and gets the right people as co-host/ co-interviewers. He had this same problem when he was battling. If you watch his battle against Hollow, it’s the best performance of his career but he brought an entourage with him and they were corny and drowned out the battle in parts.

One of the most annoying thing about Nore lol. He calls himself a journalist but don’t be knowing the basic information on rappers he invented.

ONE thing I can say about Nore is that if he ever puts it all together he can be a good interviewer, he’s shown flashes of being able to do what needs to be done to get people to open up aside from getting them drunk he just never does it all consistently across an entire interview

Down to earth. Man, hard to find nowadays. Harkens back to an older time before the internet ruined folks. AZ the type dude won’t change his values or principals for no amount of money and is good eating well but doesn’t see it as a failure not to do any and everything for the millions. Gotta respect that. Only the real understand.

nikkas can say what they want about Nore but at least he be prepared, even for the younger rappers he don't know personally.
I would say that Nore does well with having questions/material ready for the guest but his biggest issue is that he can’t stay on course and gets sidetracked too often. Plus he interrupts his guests frequently. But Nore makes up for it by being funny, entertaining and having the ability to get guests to open up. I know it’s gonna be a tall task for Nore & EFN to deliver a great episode featuring AZ but I’m positive that the Drink Champs interview will be better than Math’s.

Ima check out the Bag Fuel interview right now.

Its crazy in the sense you could be that nice, and not be thinking you could be a star. But only in retrospect, because rap stars wasnt getting the kind of money we know they went on to get later.
So yeah, its not crazy at all if you think back to how it was at that time.

That's a good and generous way to explain what he said. But, from the standpoint of being neck deep in the dope game in 1994 or whatever, how consuming that is, and that guy kind of not getting that just off either AZ being who he is, or this guy not having that experience is pretty telling. Like if AZ told me that, I would be laughing because I know exactly what he was saying. Same thing Jay has said before. Same thing BIG has said before.

Almost to the point that its cliche? "I was so deep in the drug game ,I wasnt trying to take rap serious:sas1:". Maybe the wow was more like a "Wow,never heard this before :unimpressed: "

AZ been rapping for 30 years talking about he dont wanna say too much because it could get him caught up lol. What I saw was a bunch of guys who wanted his story. But expected him to come up there and spill all the beans and boost himself like most of their guest. Then once they realized he wasnt doing that to try to sell an album, They spent so much time trying to tell him why its important to tell his story, because they really dont know shyt about AZ. Therefore they didnt really know what to ask him:mjlol:

Part of not knowing what to ask him falls on AZ. He will be better presented on platforms where the interviewers are truly fans of his.

Well, yeah, it's cliche, but these were the guys who are the cause of that cliche. They are all following in those guys footsteps, as hustlers and rappers.

but, yeah that is one thing that is hilarious on these podcasts, is all these guys, some who were serious street guys, fumbling and mumbling about statues of limitations on like a few kilos in 1996. Like they are going to be prosecuted, it's delusional.
