I'm talking about with knowing the rapper's history and shyt like that.

Cuh really got on there and was like "Man... I really would have love a Collab with you and Chef". :dahell:

60% of Drink Champs interviews consist of NORE saying "damn I didn't know that :ohhh: "

I respect AZ so much and ppl
Of that cloth, that i dont care to if he didnt want to divulge war stories and street sheet.
He seems like a Person who truly took heed to all those life lessons being in the streets teaches you.

It reminds me of black thought. Another killer mc. But he has a crazy background.
But rarely raps about it and much less makes it know on interviews.

I wish the interviewed would've asked him shyt that brought out wisdom and insight

I think the interview was bad on both sides. Math and dude with the dreads was annoying as hell with the firm questions. The Raekwon questions. And soundrounding the interview around Nas. AZ has his own career aside from his collabs with Nas. Somebody broke it down great on here. Saying they should have research AZ's career more and made it about that. Not briefly touching on a few songs and a debut album. At the sametime AZ wasn't making it any better either. They did try to ask questions about his career at times and he was just annoyed. AZ himself or his people should research the platform prior to going on. I was annoyed from both sides. I wanted him to open up a little more when it comes to his career.

Anyone talking about a FIRM album just doesn't get the dynamics behind all those guys. It's like asking where's DETOX.

What I find from some of these podcasts is that these hosts aren't really fans, or are just not that bright. Like I know more than they do. I could have a better convo, and I am from the other fukking side of the country. But, I know my hip hop, esp. AZ, Mega, Nas, all that.

Exactly. Dude with the dreads I highly despise that ngga. He thinks he’s WAY more important/intellectual than he is. I only skimmed forward a few times and every time he was saying some argumentative contrarian shyt

AZ: yea i was hustling I wasn’t thinking about a deal
Mush mouth: ‘WOW, Like that’s crazy to me!! How is that!?’…… :scust:

That's another classic, like that kind of response screams you don't have the life experiences to have these convos. I know exactly what AZ means when he says that. It's not that crazy, it's normal, hustler, street shyt.

I said it in the official thread that they dropped the ball on this AZ interview. An artist the stature of and with the history AZ had needed to have the interview centered around HIM. There’s a way to ask all of those questions in a natural organic way without coming off so chatty patty and fishing for drama. I know AZ is guarded because of his old school OG New York upbringing but there’s a way to make him feel comfortable and open up and thats by making the interview about HIM and his career and making Nas and the The Firm supplementary to his story instead of the main course. Like seriously barely any questions about Doe or Die and how the success of the Sugar Hill may have given him leverage when it came to his placement in the Firm? Sugar Hill went Platinum at a time when rap singles weren’t doing that regularly, that should have been the focus of an entire segment. How did his hood take to the single? How did he handle the fame that came with that? How did his mentality change from “this is just a hobby” to “I’m a bonafide rap star now!” ? They didn’t even center the Firm situation correctly. It SHOULD have been “So Nas is coming off a double platinum album. Foxy is primed to blow. YOU are coming off a platinum single and Gold album. How did it feel to go from an unknown with one hot guest verse to now being a star forming your own supergroup?”

Like seriously this is basic level shyt.

:unimpressed:

If your an AZ fan like that thats great. But im sure they dont bring guest up just to be interesting to their fanbase. Unless the artist has a huge fanbase. You also have your own audience to appeal too. So I see both sides of it actually. From what i listened to they didnt ask him if he eats ass,or a a bunch of other questions not fit for a grown man.

Its crazy in the sense you could be that nice, and not be thinking you could be a star. But only in retrospect, because rap stars wasnt getting the kind of money we know they went on to get later.
So yeah, its not crazy at all if you think back to how it was at that time.

I hear you, but I think he may be the best in that crew.

I know he used to write for The Source in the 90s so there's some credibility there.

Anyone know his name?

I feel he was influenced by the others in a bad way tho.

They're mad fake. And to be real, they're nobodies.

The wack podcasts expect people to come on there and be lower versions of themselves for clicks. Their bills getting paid rely on actual legends saying things they can use to get interest from viewers and listeners. We don’t listen or watch these things for the people in the shop. We don’t care about them. We care about the guests. But they don’t respect the people they bring in, and they try to approach them all with the same nonsense they think will get them some hot takes or buzzwords to promote drama or whatever to bait people into watching.

AZ is one of those people that doesn't play in the fake game. Which is why all of the legends who matter, respect him. These dudes are so invested in this new fake and phony vibe that when some real sh*t pops up, they can't handle themselves around it and end up looking stupid. But that's how bad the culture is right now. And exchanges like this really tell the story. So I'm glad Sosa went up there and exposed it and them. Because we used to see way more people who carried themselves like he does before the fake thing became normal. It's refreshing to see that it's still out there with our real legends.

Very well said.

They spent like the middle 25% of the interview trying to convince AZ to becoming a chatty patty :mjlol:

My Expert Opinion brehs: You so mysterious! The fans wanna know the story to why you don't tell your whole story!

AZ: Word, word :ehh:
