The problem is you get to see too much media from a supposed “artist” before you even hear their talent.

I can’t count how many time I learned about a musical act from controversy surrounding them versus their actual music being talked about directly.

Maybe it’s because I’m older but I doubt that’s the reason.

Then you have people just using the lane as a come up anyways so they never had the talent to begin, just the attention. In that case, all a person has to do is appease their crowd

I was surprised to see AZ on my expert opinion, seems right after bag fuel.

I wonder if he was acting this way because he did the interview with them first.

That wasn't weird to y'all?

I saw MEO first and then Bag Fuel 2nd... Az seemed like he has a better personal relationship with Esso, so the convo was more natural imo, but even Esso was trying to explain to AZ like 'my nikka content is king, as an artist its not a bad idea to put yourself out there more so your fans can feel more connected to you" and AZ made a joke about that like he didnt understand lmao.

At the end of the day, I just think thats AZ's personality and there is nothing wrong with that at all. but showing up to a hip-hop talk show that has a million followers and hundreds of episodes...you'd think it would be a good idea to understand the environment you're walking into.

nahhhh Imma disagree with ya'll. I love AZ as an artist, but dont show up to a platform like this and give 5 word responses then act like everybody else is the weirdo. He never seen the show before?

You weren't ambushed at the mall by TMZ my nikka... you pulled up, voluntarily, for a sit-down conversation. Let's not act like every episode is on some chatty patty shyt too. One of my favorite episodes of MEO was Mic Geronimo's. I walked away feeling like I knew breh more as a human being.

This is an opportunity where as a man, you can show vulnerability, talk about your wins/losses, mental health, speak on life lessons for the next generation, etc.

I do agree Math and Mecca could have asked better questions...Bag Fuel episode was a bit better, but both were disappointing imo.
Maybe everyone don’t walk to talk about that soft ass shyt?

I didn’t say don’t ask questions, but the mental health, Black men spiel is getting old

Its as tired as get a therapist, it’ll solve all your problems

AZ>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Nas (Fall back Nawz dikkriders, both are my favorite artists but...)

Dude always had this legit knowledge of self, without being a goober about it. He still keeps the waves and all flashy with the shyt, but the gems and knowledge this brother has just screams "real one".

Pretty much this

Interview questions weren't great but AZ was disengaged from the gate and his BagFuel interview was only slightly better, it wasn't that compelling either

AZ is a great artist but he just is a boring interview I think. It happens.

The point is MEO is known for asking those type of questions. This aint a brand new show lol

"What was your thought process when making XYZ album"
"When you went to jail, what went through your head? Walk me through it..."
"You shot 10 nikkas as a toddler (allegedly), what would you say made you like that?"

and then Math is gonna relate it to his upbringing. Mecca is gonna sound like Mr Know-It-All music guru/Therapist

its what they do. If it aint your cup of tea, go to Drink Champs or Talib Kweli show or something I dunno
