Surprised this hasn't happened at Oshkosh yet.

Rip to the victims, crazy how many angles we have of this

I watched some YouTube videos there's some trash ass pilots that show up there, I’d be afraid to fly in :dead:
The B52 has propeller engines as can be clearly seen in the video while the B17 has jet engines as shown in the pic you posted.

I was in the Air Force unlike you smart dumb nikka. :childplease:
Breh the B-17 is a WWII plane, like the P-63 that hit it. You have to take this L

B-52 is still in service since the 50s

It's possible the pilot in the Bell P-63 Kingcobra didn't see it until it was too late, as he was higher than the bomber when he began to decend and bank towards the plane. When he did that, he probably didn't know the bomber was now in front of him and then it was too late to avoid; just bad situational awareness.

I guess this is what the cockpit looked like.

I’m thinking the same

I‘m addicted to those crash study shows. There was one a few months ago where two planes collided just like this. The lower plane was in the higher plane’s blind spot.

Frfr.

I work in aviation and have to cover air shows somewhat frequently.

Outside of the usual ex military and old rich recreational fliers, you have rednecks, drunks, 18 year olds and neo nazis flying.

The type of people you see with their own whole ass airplane will make you be like :gucci:

What was your mos?

You definitely didn't do anything that required critical thinking

You never flew a day in live while you were in though, did you nonner? Negged. :stopitslime:

Did something happen to you in the service? I don’t understand how you could be this wrong.

Assuming he even served, he was either Security Forces, Services, Medical, or CE (not EM or EOD).

His AFSC wasn't anything that began with a 1 or 2. IYKYK. :sas1:

Also since these are WW2 Airplanes, I bet they don't have the modern stuff like Proximity Alarms; maybe just to keep them nostalgic.

Pilots are always told to keep their heads up eyes out the window. Especially the non PIC.

From this angle it looks like he went into a 25 or 30 degree bank and lost visual of the other plane.

Somebody was talking about a stall...but the angle of attack was way too low and his speed was good. So I dunno.

Another possibility is a flight control jam.
