since pre-release, I have over 1800 hours in this game.

I just saw something for the first time yesterday.

how do they do this.

yeah, i must have played the first part of chapter 1 like 5 times and i still see new stuff when i watch other peoples playthroughs. Its wild how much original content is in this game.

There is no "so far". It's like that until the end. :wow:

What's crazy is you could talk to 10 people that played it and all of them have different experiences.

Hell, you could talk to 10 people that did the same quest and all of them would have different outcomes.

It's possible to play the game for 100+ hours and miss entire areas, characters, etc.

Fred.
and with Patch 8 we're gonna have even more things to uncover with the new classes, evil endings and such. Games like bg3 should be the standard

This game is ABSURDLY long.

High praise to them for the overwhelming amount of content they crammed into it but at some points I wished things moved along faster.
It took 40 hours to get through chapter 1 and some of 2.
I like that it's the type of game where the story truly is YOUR story. I can't imagine how they worked so many choices and what seems like an infinite amount of story paths. This is the level of choice I thought we would have in Mass Effect when it was first announced. It's a master class in how you can give a player complete freedom over decisions and how those decisions have major impacts to the story in very meaningful ways.
Honestly for me, it's probably the combat that drags on for me at times. I'll have sessions where as soon as I walk around a corner and a fight queues up with like 20 characters I start to sigh.

It has so many choices and twists and turns all you could really explain to someone is the first 20 minutes of the game because the rest of the story is going to be very unique to you and your decisions. I'd say there is the absolute best any video has ever been able to accomplish from a story and choice perspective. The turn based combat is what is going to be hit or miss depending on your preference. For the most part I enjoy it, but like I mentioned, sometimes there are fights that just drag on. I would have preferred and active combat system although I get it, this is a dungeon and dragons game and that's part of the allure.

The under dark is a big area but I feel like the areas before it were bigger still with a lot more to uncover.

The game opens up about 30 minutes into the game. I took close to 30 hours or so for me to do everything and discover every area before the under dark. It’s crazy how easy it is to miss tons of content especially in the first area of chapter 1 with all the side cliffs you need to jump off that you wouldn’t even think to look at.

This is where playing multiplayer really opens up the overall experience because when you have people that can point out “did you over go down this path over here?” And “did you ever talk to this person and tell them xyz?” The experience really becomes something else….I’m only familiar with Dungeons and Dragons in concept but I think when you play multiplayer, that’s when you’re truly getting the dungeons and dragons experience because without even noticing it, the players in your party are embodying characters in the game by sharing their experiences.
