That's EXACTLY the issue and has been for over 3 decades. Liberals want more money for 'education' but the funds don't go to the schools or the classrooms. Instead, the overwhelming majority of the funds go to bureaucrats, PACs, and administrators whose job it is to oversee how the funds are spent and.........................ask for MORE MONEY FOR EDUCATION......

Baltimore Burning: It’s Not A Matter of Money. We Tried That

:stopitslime:

Just a vicious cycle that leaves the students out of the picture and results in stories like this. Baltimore schools have received more funding than most other schools in the nation so there's absolutely NO REASON for something like this to occur unless.....THE MONEY ISN'T GOING TO THE SCHOOLS!!!!!
As opposed to "Conservatives" wanting to pull the money from schools, especially public schools in low-income areas?
There certainly does need to be a push for more money, as well as better allocation. But this doesn't have anything to do with ideology, or Democrats. Still bureaucracy, still corruption, still administrative issues. Not ideology, and distribution issues don't negate the need for greater funding.

Again people this is an attack on our young black youth. Rich white vs. Poor black.

If anything only the community can do something right now.

Donate all kinds of heaters will be a start.

Working administration or running a school district in a poor area is the greatest job on earth.

You have built in excuses when you fail at doing your job & parents are largely apathetic.
Six figure salary without the pressure or accountability that usually comes with that kind of dough.

I grew up in city similar to B more, and even at the magnet school we attended....the same thing described in the article happened to us. The "office" where the administrators worked always had heat and AC though, whether students were freezing or burning up in classrooms. It gets better though...when the state of NJ took over the school district... the board members had the NERVE to claim that it was an example of racism.

Above the fray.

You can hide behind emojis/smilies or try to counter anything that I wrote.

Once the press was alerted and put the school board on BLAST, the heat issue was resolved in ONE day. Otherwise the students and teachers at Western would have continued to sit in cold classrooms. I can guarantee that the heat in the school office and teacher's lounges was working the entire time ,though.

I have personal experience sitting on cold classrooms, while the school district had maintenance costs earmarked in the budget and maintenance workers on salary.

Again, counter my comments or hide behind smilies.

The Wrong Side of the Tracks

Red-herring. The problem is that the money earmarked for these schools does NOT get where it's supposed to go and the students are suffering. Putting more and more money into this is a waste if the bureaucracy tasked with overseeing the distribution of funds is inefficient, ineffectual, and corrupt.....which it has historically and consistently been shown to be for decades.
