I'm South African and wanna relocate to the Islands, but the blackest Islands, unmixed pure Africans is the worst island socio economically, Jamaica.

Can some of the Island brehs suggest good YouTube channels or documentaries detailing the various Islands and nuanced culture within each

Jamaica is not the most African island. For the large islands that would be Haiti imo. Apart from that there are small islands which are even more African.
For instance on the small island of carriacou alot of the people there still practice the African traditions. They use to have this big drum circle where people called out their tribe.

what you think about crumbz they everywhere now it seems.............*

I don't know if I've tried their stuff. When I come I usually stay around Rockley Beach. Stayed at a few hotels there so I'll eat at whatever's around there now. Then I been by Oistins a few times. When I was a kid though I used to get the sweets from the older bakers. But now that everyone has passed...I have to rely on the shops.

When I was a youngster I stayed at my grandparents house but the last several years I been staying at hotels (the heat is too much I need the AC) so I been checking out hotels each time. So far best hotel I stayed at was Bougeanvilla but next time I want to get a bunch of people and get a villa with the chef and shyt. The hotels are expensive enough it's not too crazy.

Breh you aint lived until you eat some bread and other pastry's from crumbz . There is a reason why they are so popular here now as the other poster alluded too. Highly recommend tbh.

Want to continue to be surrounded by whites like in south africa? Go to Puerto Rico, the whitest island in the caribbeans, with an american economy.

I know about Haiti, but unfortunately the language barrier and the fact that white people are hell bent on making an exampke out of Haiti makes them out of my preffered places. Also Haiti is quite far from the rest of the West Indies, or at least that that's been my perception.

definitely heavyweights with the pastries & the fruits*
Sweetbread is :wow:

Will be there in March. Looking forward to it.

Nothing like going back home.

And yes, shyt's expensive. Plan ahead to speak some cash on food.

One interesting item though, if you aren't staying in a hotel and you have some place you can cook, is that you can buy a meat license and bring that with you. I usually get a bunch of frozen steaks and salmon and take down to BBQ.
