My main Barber where I grew up went up to $25 + tip a few years ago. He's been cutting my hair for 20 years for the most part, he's a good dude and keeps me looking nice so It's I pay it. I love going to their shop tho, it really is the men's club of my old neighborhood, everyone that grew up there comes back to kick it and get cut at the shop.

The only weird fee they have is they charge extra on holiday weekends

My dip-off barber charges $20 with the shave and shampoo, but he's old and not as good. But I go to him when I don't have time to socialize and wait around 2 hours to get in the chair on a saturday morning. My barber can always tell when someone else has cut my hair too, I'm a whole grown a$$ man with children waiting in the shop like:
I hope he don't say nothing:lupe:

Anybody paying over 20 for a cut is getting fleeced. In here making excuses...sound like farming trump supporters getting waxed by these tariffs.

They need to form a coalition and make $40 the nationwide minimum for any service. Since dudes don't care what they charge.

nikkas really paying 30 plus for a cut:huhldup:
I pay 20. A couple of days ago I walked into the shop and my barber says, "Yeah, I'm gonna be doing this by appointment only in the future and the price is gonna go up." LOL. I nodded and just thought to myself. "I won't be coming back to this nikka's shop no mo....." It's not even like the dude has a line around the corner. He's cutting at a little storefront in the hood. He acting like he a stylist for the stars or some shyt. SMH.

Straw man argument...that's some ACTUAL trump shyt you're pulling.

No one is saying they want to pay $40 per cut.

No one is saying they don't care what they charge.

If your barber charges $15 dollars and both of you are satisfied at the end of the transaction, you're getting a great deal and more power to both of you. I've been going to the same barber for YEARS and nowadays I pay $30 w/tip (includes beard/goatee/mustache and razor if I insist) - and honestly I feel like that's a GREAT deal. I refer people to him all the time, which is most likely the reason he hasn't raised my price in ages.

Haircuts are important both from a personal and professional standpoint - especially since unlike clothes if you don't like how it looks you can't just switch it out for something different on a whim. And when you find a barber that suits you personally - they're familiar with your hair type/style, they know the look you're actually going for w/o having to decipher language whose meaning can vary etc...they understand your schedule and are able/willing to fit you into theirs when necessary etc., then people are willing to pay. When service providers are PROFESSIONALS, then I'm not mad if they demand wages commiserate with the level of service/professionalism they provide, and I'll happily pay the premium, ESPECIALLY since we're talking about younger Black men/women trying to come up :yeshrug:

2-3 AN HOUR???? Sounds like a sloppy barber to me.

Not to mention very few barbers will be booked every minute of a working day.

Agree to disagree breh...:yeshrug:
These cats paying $10-$15 probably looking terrible b :mjlol: barber cutting their hair in 15 mins to hurry up and get to the next cat. There's no way a barber surviving cutting 1.5 heads an hour charging Seattle minimum wage prices. That's why some of these cats still gotta hustle on the side, they ain't taking their craft seriously, cutting broke nikkas heads all week and wonder why they not making any money cutting.

Now that $50 and up shyt is wild too :whoa: both sides are extreme.
