It was absolutely a mistake. Was it a solution? Of course. But was it the best solution? Was it our only solution? Definitely not. Like you said, "we needed to have sorted issues in house first". We needed time, an era, to take care of ourselves economically and mentally. Obviously white America wasn't just going to LET that happen, but in my opinion it would have been the fight worth fighting for.

Stokely Carmichael - Wikipedia

Now, several people have been upset because we've said that integration was irrelevant when initiated by blacks, and that in fact it was a subterfuge, an insidious subterfuge, for the maintenance of white supremacy. Now we maintain that in the past six years or so, this country has been feeding us a "thalidomide drug of integration," and that some Negroes have been walking down a dream street talking about sitting next to white people; and that that does not begin to solve the problem; that when we went to Mississippi we did not go to sit next to Ross Barnett; we did not go to sit next to Jim Clark; we went to get them out of our way; and that people ought to understand that; that we were never fighting for the right to integrate, we were fighting against white supremacy. Now, then, in order to understand white supremacy we must dismiss the fallacious notion that white people can give anybody their freedom. No man can give anybody his freedom. A man is born free. You may enslave a man after he is born free, and that is in fact what this country does. It enslaves black people after they're born, so that the only acts that white people can do is to stop denying black people their freedom; that is, they must stop denying freedom. They never give it to anyone.

People who ask this question dont know shyt about history.. ..as is evidence with his "racism did exist" line......did it really....:martin:

And here is the difference. Before the abolishment of Jim Crow a black man would work around whites...often times do more work...work longer hours..be subject to less pay and most importantly denied upward mobility in the company. Integration is a false narrative....people were intergrated long before the Civil Rights act....what we gained is the difference between Bob Johnson owning BET at one point...and him simply sweeping the floors at CBS. You are not barred from owninga bussiness...and education is more accessible to blacks then its ever been. The disconnect is shytty and or absentee parenting....THATS WHERE WE ARE FAILING....

Parenting? Parenting DAWG?
Tell me how in the fukk does not having a dad automatically mean you start trapping.
That's a right wing white supremacist lie.
Tons of white kids grow up without dads and don't turn out like that.

And tons of kids with 2 parent homes turn to crime. Just as kids who come from single parent homes. But that is not the general rule..and Im not stating that it is. Parenting is in regards to the values or lack of values you teach your kids. How involved you are in thier school and extra curricular activities outside of school. What type of child you raise...thats what I mean breh

And plenty of white kids turn to crime as well breh....:patrice:
