:dahell: Do ya'll just choose to ignore MJ bigging up Bron and Kobe? Hell Chuck and Shaq was giving Draymond mad props for being a good player. Magic Johnson said Bron might be the GOAT. Like stop with the fake news.
Yeah old heads stay giving the younger generation props in the NBA. MJ was bigging up lesser players like Westbrook, and Oscar Robertson was saluting Westbrook too

It's always been like that. Dudes like Oscar and Wilt openly stated and thought their era was better than the era of Bird/Magic and the 80's guys thought their era was better than the 90's, Jordan era.

I'm wondering though breh, I have the feeling that the generation directly after the MJ/Ewing/Olajuwon/Robinson one...the Shaq/Penny/Webber/Mourning, even stretch it to Kobe/Iverson/Garnett seemed to respect the previous generation...Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember any of those players saying anything but praises for the older players. Even when Iverson said he said he wans't afraid of MJ it wasn't on some "I'm better than him"...maybe those two generations were somehow more "connected"...

I feel like if you were born in the 80's at any point(maybe up until 90), you have a different view of life by this point than say a millenial.

You've seen more stuff in this world than someone who was in diapers when 9/11 happened or wasnt even born during the OJ trial.

So by the same token, if you missed most of JOrdans career and even early Kobe, then you're opinion on the NBA is just different. You also missed the big man era.

You came in post-Malice in the Palace and it's just not the same nba

Great point. It's almost a different sport now tbh.

What does Baron Davis expect? For the new generation to watch footage of wilt, russell, magic, Kareem, MJ, shaq, Duncan, Kobe?

Why not? As a pro why not study the game? shyt as a fan I go watch highlights of older players.

For what purpose, to learn how to hand check?? For big men to learn how to post up and dominate the paint? Alot of the older eras ways are washed in today's day and age. Sorry but Alot of the stuff of past cannot be emulated in today's era

I was talking to this 21 yr old dude a few days ago and he told me he was a big NBA fan.

Nothing out of the norm so far.

But then he started going into detail about how he 1st started watching the NBA when Kevin garnett and Paul pierce were on the Celtics.

And to myself I was like "Damn, so u just started watching bball in 2008" But he's only 21 so that means he was like 10-11 when that happened. So it's about right.

But still if you have no knowledge of the NBA pre 2008, you missed out on some major stuff

I think you were a kid back then. Older generation in the NBA always shyt on the next generation.

Thats what Durant talked about in that interview he had with Bill Simmons when.

people born from 83-99 are millenials.

He makes a great point. Alot of the newer generation doesn't respect the older legends as much as they should
They paved the way for what the NBA has become
Thats a great point?:usure:

Older "legends" are the ones who keep shytting on the new generation every chance they get. From Barkley, to Zeke, to Oscar, and the list goes on. be respectful to be respected. Old players or new players, it don't matter.

The Barkley/Draymond comparison is stupid anyway.

Oscar Robertson called Russ the new triple double king. Magic and Zeke went on TV and said Bron might be the goat. Even Kobe gave props to Harden, Russ and others when prompted and said the new generations should be trying tl do better than him.

What old players are really out here constantly shytting on the new kids like that? :jagfan: Lol at you putting "legends" in quotations, fukk outta here with that goofiness
