Barry Sanders played behind a much better offensive line than Payton did. Sanders also played with better quarterbacks and receivers than Payton did. That is why so many NFL players had such high praise for Payton. Lawrence Taylor just straight up said Walter Payton and Jim Brown were it.

Nope

How do you think we're gonna do on Sunday?

I'm glad SF is a running team, because our 2ndary is a liabililty. That doesn't mean they will be easy to defend, even though their offense plays into our strength because it's strength vs strength.

But I think we have a good shot if we play smart.

Yes he did and it is not even close. I pointed out in the othe post that Walter Payton only played with 2 offensive linemen in his whole career that made the pro bowl (Jay Hilgenberg and Jim Covert). Those guys didn't make the pro bowl until Payton was in his 10th season. Think about that for a minute. Payton's career was almost over before any of his other offensive teammates finally made a pro bowl.

Oh stop. The best QB Barry played with was Scott Mitchell...Scott Freaking Mitchell.

He also played with Erik Kramer, Dave Krieg, Bob Gaggliano, Eric Hipple, and Rodney Peete...Hardly "Good" quarterbacks. Other than Lomas Brown, and Kevin Glover, Barry was not surrounded by a great offensive line. You acting like he had the same luxury as Emmitt Smith... Most of Barry's highlights came from breakdowns at the front.

He had 4 solid years of production out of Herman Moore, and Brett Perriman, but we never had a SQUAD...And Over his career with the Lions, they averaged more losses than wins, and were negative in point differential. It can also be argued that the reason why Herman and Brett had such good numbers was because of the influence Barry had on defenses.

Without Barry, the Lions would have been an absolute dumpster fire of a franchise.

I agree..Also Deebo is having shoulder issues and hasn't been practicing. He'll probably still suit up, but if he's not at 100% or even close it just makes our chances that much better. We'll need Goff to be close to perfect and a good game from Jahmyr. I got my fingers crossed breh...I'm manifesting it. :russ:
