*Grabs Egyptian cotton Q-Tip, cleans out any residual ear wax*

Relistens to "Tribe".

:jbhmm:

Hears Latin oriented guitar playing and maracas. Sees video with Haitian culture on display, seeming to make the correlation between Latin America/Caribbean/Haiti and the guitar playing and maracas.

Hears the trademark trap drums that I would hear in any random Atlanta trap song, including the trademark hi-hats.

Somebody back me up on this. I know I'm not over exaggerating anything. "Tribe" has a production mixed with a Latin/Caribbean tropical guitar sound and maracas layered by trap drums. Am I right:lupe:?

A bit of an over exaggeration, I know what you're hearing but I'm not hearing Latin, I hear Afro/Caribbean

Dreamville HABITUALLY get ignored. All those dope artists and great albums they done individually dropped and the admins never think about a discussion thread to be stickied unless it is J. Cole himself.

There is NO REASON where some random rapper mixtape get stickied and BAS on his THIRD LP with such dope material is not getting recognized!

It took me a couple listens to really appreciate Too High To Riot but it only took 1 listen for me to love this one :wow:

I hate the word vibe, but this album has the perfect vibe. I think this album, Royce, Black Milk, Skyzoo and J. Cole have made such cohesive albums that highlight the parts of hip hop and rapping I care about most and think is most impressive.

It's a perfect end of summer/fall album that you can put on in any company and I think they'd enjoy it. This definitely needs more praise and shouldn't just come and go. This probably gonna be pushing my top 5 at the end of the year.
