I've only played in Summer leagues here and there and was a baseball player in high school....so school me

A chaser essentially follows one man. It can end up as a defacto zone. But can morph into a matchup zone... depending on your personnel . Personnel is key. But as the homie said earlier, good passing can make it tough. I'd try anything to make anyone but steph beat me.

Yeah, a zone won't work against them, at this point I think the best bet is not to double him at all and just live with him scoring what he's going to score while defending everyone else.

He's the only player on their team that requires a double, don't send one and just live with it. Him getting 34 pts with 5 assists isn't nearly as damaging as those games where he has 28 and 12 Those 12 assists don't tell the full story of all the ball movement going on either.

You want his teammates to have to create for themselves and live with him getting his numbers cause he's going to do that regardless. Throwing a lot of help at him just means his teammates are going to get clean looks which is exactly what they want. I'd just single cover him at this point, live with the outcome and go hard at Draymond and Thompson.

... I'd try a combo of both strategies we've mentioned based on his performance and in-game adjustments. Alotta coaches are so proud that they're scared to do shyt that make them seem desperate. i'm not. Let's just throw shyt out there, and see. It's 4 quarters. cream rises.
