Wilt, Bill, Magic are in that convo, far more than Jordan and Kareem IMHO.

they are all tier 1 but within in that tier the general consensus is that Lebron is a top 3 player all time and is now competing only with Jordan and/or Russell or Kareem

There is no general consensus, the goat discussions varies greatly on age and rice and the individual, so posting videos means nothing.

The NBA literally has tried to whitewash the pre-Jordan folks out of its history, and Wilt called them out on that.
Fact of the matter the man who own half of the NBA regular season records, who statistically is the most dominant player ever, is in consideration for GOAT, and ESPN and the major news networks and the NBA don't even mention him. That man is Wilt Chamberlain.

wilt didn't combine winning + great individuals numbers + great playoffs, like many of the others. For context

Chamberlains ppg in regular season: 30.1
Chamberlains ppg in playoffs: 22.5
Chamberlain's ppg in the Finals: 18

Yes Wilt did combine winning and great individual numbers.
You seem to ignore thae team that was putting him out the playoffs, the boston celtics.
In philly when he finally got a good team, he won, while leading the league in assists on top of that.
With the Lakers he finally won with a good team.

So to try to diminish Wilt because he only had 2 championships while being in the east and having to go through the Celtics dynasty is one of the most ill informed arguments I've ever heard.

I think Bird got the most out of his talent. he was obviously a bad motherfukker. But Lebron Athletically is in the elites of the elites. A better question would be who got more out of their abilities? I could see Bird winning that battle or being competitive. but better player ehh on Offense Bird has more moves. But you can't tell me on D nikkas not shytting bricks when Lebron switches on to them. Especially smaller PG's who are the focus of their teams. Bird would be toast. Lebron generally carries his own.

I can't see Bird getting shut down by Jason Terry and JJ Barrera. I can't see Bird disappear for 4 straight 4th quarters with a 2.2 ppg average in those quarters with the title on the line
So I guess that settles it.....

:martin:

That was an underwhelming finals by LBJ, but pls....

:beli:

Passing, Scoring, Defense,>LBJ

Shooting>Bird

Reb, Tie.

I don't see why people are trashing Coach Nick for this. His overall stance is that leBron has the edge...but don't forget Larry Bird is a bad motherfukker too and it's still an argument.

How many times did wilt make it with other teams before the Lakers this statement can be misleading since he changed his game with the lakes and didn't shoot alot.

If you're a GM and both Lebron and Bird are there in a draft when you need a SF, I'd laugh if you pass on Lebron for Larry.

Kobe fan speaking.
