Wood Green is worse than Harlem in the sense that its not central. At least Harlem is in Manhattan, right next to everything. I guess that's why they're gentrifying the shyt outta Harlem. But Harlem in its hood prime was probably a lot worse than Wood Green.
My best friend's gf used to live in Wood Green so I used to go up there quite often. I remember her brother got his snot box rocked one day. He came out of a store and a young kid came up to him and asked him for a cigarette, cause he was smoking.
Kid said "Hey, you got a cigarette?" Her brother said "I do, but not for you". The kid punched him in the face
I never had problems up there tho but if u look for problems up there, you will definitely find them.
Wood Green is a piece of shyt.
Honestly, back in the 90s it was a good area and fun to hang out in. I got a lot of childhood memories of hanging out with my cousins and friends and then go to Alexandra Palace on the weekends checking for girls and whatnot.
Now the place isn't even a shadow of its former self. I hate it there now. The shopping centre is beyond crap and needs a total overhaul. Same with the library. The flats above it are overrun with vermin and it was there that the woman was laying dead for years before she was even discovered by the local council. Don't even think about eating anything from there either. Health and Safety officials have got stories for days, especially that Nandos knockoff BBQ Xpress place.
The whole place is just filthy and doesn't have any redeeming qualities other than the fact it's very central and has a good bus and train route.
Other than that, you couldn't even pay me to live in that area.

There's a reason you never see these places in upscale areas, yet places like Wood Green have kids flocking there every day, then we wonder why they suffer from health problems at 12 years old and have behavioural issues.
I haven't heard about that particular dodgy shop although I think I have an idea of which one it is. If it's the one I'm thinking of, then it's no longer there. There's always been a nasty underworld presence in that area anyway.

). I bought ribs there once and it was probably the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten. I threw it away after a few bites. But in Wood Green there was a couple of kebab places that weren't too bad. We used to eat there after a night of drinking.Also, I heard that the number 29 bus has the most crime in London. I had a co-worker that got robbed for his rent money and got stabbed on that bus. And it wasn't even night, it was a Friday afternoon.
I also knew this Kosovan guy that worked with a friend of mine and he was like "Never go to Wood Green at night. You'll get killed". He was exaggerating obviously but he was shook from the area.

Nah, I think Sega World was gone by the time I started to hang out around there. I've been on the N29 quite a few times back in the day and never really had any problems, lucky I suppose.
I remember one night we were going back to my friend's house in Archway by bus. My friend went to the top floor before I did. When he got there this dodgy ass looking crackhead sat next to him and started hassling him for money. Once I got upstairs and sat next to my friend the guy kinda changed his tune and left my friend alone. When he saw it was 2 of us he backed off but was still asking us for money and shyt.
I got a feeling that if my friend had been alone or if I was alone in there, we coulda had trouble.
