It's crazy, reading/hearing London people try to compare themselves in 'hardness' to Americans.
This video shows about 5 males who all swing like females having a hard time beating on one guy. And this is supposed to mean "we better not go there acting arrogant"?
Had it been me and one of my homies out there that night those 5 London sissy-boy fakkits would've been in ICU.
Damn it would've been fun!

I'm going to london next week for a few days. Should I hit up the regular tourist traps? Anything special a local would recommend?

If you on the tube/underground around central London, don't leave anything in visible pockets otherwise its goin to get lifted.

I'd recommend you buy yourself an oyster card otherwise you goin to be payin too much to travel around

The average price in London is 450-550k. 1 bedroom is goin to cost you upwards of 300k in a decent area. I'll say your best bet is getting something in Surrey/outskirts and that's if you don't mind the travel. They been re-generating the shythole areas over the past 10 years or so, but you not goin to get rid of the elements that make it a shythole.

I would hold off buyin any property over the next 3-5 years because things are goin to get worse with the economy and then you have the fall out with that. I'd say you best off renting.

People have mentioned Surrey, Hertfordshire to me I wouldn't mind the daily commute during the week just wondering if I'd miss the buzz off the city ? Also Friday and Saturday nights driving back might be an effort from London as my social life will be based in London not sure if that would get annoying after a while.

I've been reading the financial times and all the other UK money sites and everyone's been saying what you are saying apparently house prices in London have been rising more and more and more and people predict a 'burst' I don't mind waiting till 2018 which is 5 years and see how the UK housing market goes then because I would be absolutely pissed to buy it at the highest price in cash then have the value go down. It's more an investment for me as i hope to move back to the UK around 2019 so I've got time to play with.

thoughts on the London housing 'burst' situation ?

Well, west London is considered to be the nicest part of town, so if u get the chance to live there, its worth considering. Hammersmith, Ealing, Hounslow, Greenford, Ruislip, Southall are all areas where u could find something in your budget.

As for east London, at the moment I couldn't tell you. I know a few areas but they are considered to be grimey, ghetto so I don't know if you'd be interested.

Camden and Islington u could probably find a nice flat for ur budget. I'd doubt u could find a house but for ur budget, u could definitely get a nice flat.

For North London u should check out Wood Green, Palmers Green, Bounds Green. They are all in the same area more or less. Wood Green is kinda grimey tho.

Cheers breh, I keep completely forgetting about the West London side of the central line, that would get me to Liverpool Street, I'll look into those sides, the commute is one straight train too.

LOL my boy told me Wood Green is like Harlem, I remember Palmers Green and Bounds Green being good areas when I was younger.

I'll look in Islington + Camden. :salute:

East London you will get good bang for your buck vs being close to central. A decent new/almost new 2 bedroom flat will be in the region of 300 – 350k. Slightly older, you can get change from 300 if you’re lucky.

You could probably also get decent value down south, but I ain’t so well versed on down there.

Thanks breh :salute:

What are the 'nice' areas in East London at the moment. That's my problem I've lost sight of the demographics and actual day to day of each part of the areas :lupe:

As a londoner what areas would you currently call 'good'
cambridge heath is nice but expensive.

Islington and Camden are nice but you're going to struggle with your budget. Camden... maybe... but as busy as it is, I wouldn't necessarily call it a nice area. Good parts of Islington, you ain't getting a shoebox for 300k.

Out west (Shepherds Bush, Hammersmith way) might be a touch cheaper. Thing is, you're looking at 30+ mins on the central line rather than out east, it's only 5 - 10 mins, depending on where you are.

I'm talking about prices from maybe 2-3 years ago, so there might have been some movement since then.

Moneyweek is the best one out of the lot. Their piece on End of Britain with the video they have is :whoo: & :damn:

As for the housing market, to keep it short and sweet. The wrong sort of people are buying properties, thus fukking it up for the rest of us. They buying low, but they sell/rent at too high of a price. Also when they build new houses/flats they only building them for people with money. Plenty of luxury flats being built but no one living in them.

Breh you are dropping jewels right now :wow:

LOL I know Camden is a weird one Hampstead, Primrose Hill, Belize Park, sides are nice but expensive as fukk. Just looked at zoopla and rightmove and 'shoebox' seems accurate. The real Camden tho I remember all those darn drug dealers and crack heads LOL. I think if you're not in the Hamsptead part

The thing with east London is it's weird, so many darn shyt holes lol. do u have any particular areas in East which you wouldn't mind living in within a reasonable commute to Liverpool Street/Bank ? If you can still remember.

DLR, Overground, Central whatever line it's on I'm open.

Otherwise off to West London I go :wow:

Thanks for the moneyweek hookup, never heard of it.

Breh every day I wish I was born 10 years earlier, these greedy Buy To Landlords fukked it up for everyone. My aunt bought a flat in East London for 88,000k in 1993 and now it's worth 340,000. SMH the baby boomers ate good because all their homes are worth a shyt ton now but those of us trying to get on the ladder. :wow:

Judging my advice I've gotten so far I'm either gonna find the last of the good in East London or head West. :wow:

There's nowhere I would describe as a pure nice area, otherwise the prices would be up... but there's decent parts everywhere. I would recommend going out west and east and having a look around to see what looks like somewhere you'd want to live.
