He's talented though and hasn't really had any support from the coaches that the Bears hired. He was always getting a second shot. No one should be upset by this trade and I bet Tomlin told Russ that he has this one year guaranteed as a starter and it'll be a competition next off season.
Tomlin isn’t guaranteeing starts like a charity or make a wish

Good move by Pittsburgh. He landed in a spot where he can sit for a year and develop behind a veteran quarterback. He’ll get his shot in a year or so.

The Yay
As a Ravens fan, “doing right by Fields” is:
-staying in the division, 2 revenge games a season
-Kevin O’Connell as (established offensive coach)
-Justin Jefferson, Addison, Hockensen
-Direct path to QB1
-They been mediocre with 1 playoff win with Cousins (little to no pressure)

Raiders, Broncos offer direct path to QB1. Don’t have to split starter reps. Playbook designed to his strengths instead of accommodating another potential QB1.

Trading to Pittsburgh Steelers, is the best for the Bears. Poles GM career is on the line.

No team will trade a qb within their division

No team would do it with a qb of much higher stature and importance and success than Fields

Horrible trade I would have went for the haul
and raped Washington for Caleb.
Same. :francis:

Oh well, lettuce hope Caleb pans out. He's got weapons and an improved o-line along with a new OC so he's coming into a good situation.

Remember, how no team wanted to sign Lamar Jackson? Atlanta was one of the teams who passed on Lamar (who’s now a 2x MVP) and they go and sign Cousins to a $150M deal coming off an Achilles tear? :unimpressed:
There is nothing credible to suggest that they had a chance to sign Lamar and passed.

Desmond Ridder commanded more straight up equity than fields. That tells me the league is not only racist, but stupid, lazy, and uninventive. You can think Fields is ass but on no planet is he worse than Ridder
Moreso due to Bears having zero leverage. Has nothing to do with Ridder or Fields

We all know that
Like I said, that’s doing right by Fields
