Regardless of what he was traded for it's on the Bears if they didn't receive value for him. He is in a good spot as well with a stable organization. He will be the backup behind Russ to start but I don't think it's long before he takes over as the starter. If it's not this upcoming season he can use the time on the bench to learn how to read defenses and learn the offense thoroughly so he's ready to go when it's his time. I think he still has a bright future ahead of him as long as he doesn't look at this situation as a bad thing.

I was talking about career numbers. And I specifically mentioned passing numbers. Obviously the rushing ability makes Fields have much higher ceiling, but saying Fields have shown flashes as a passer but Mac Jones haven't, aren't quite correct.

When it comes to certain passing deficiencies both of these qbs have, the weapons and coaching etc comes up a lot with fields but not with mac jones

This is who you're defending...quit it.

stats without context.

Why do we discount rushing yardage and touchdowns? Hmm?

So so so many excuses…are any of ya'll going to speak on JF being the literal worst qb in the 4th quarter?
Its not stats without context. U wanna include running stats, be my guess. Thats not how i nor a majority of people judge QB talents.

U think teams want a QB just for their running stats? :heh:

Its called dual threat QB. He isnt one. Hes just a runner of the football

These JF sympathizers are hilarious

I can't believe I'm agreeing with you :snoop:

Fields good for 3-5 insane electric plays a game, and then a lot of frustration between that.

My problem with the discourse is the typical issue I have with online discussions. He's clearly not a great QB currently, but people acting like he's complete trash not deserving of another starting opportunity is complete nonsense to me. He's shown enough flashes with the great plays that a team should be willing to work with him to try and fix the bad areas. We just recently seen it with Geno and Baker that they can be serviceable QBs if given a chance with the right coaching staff. For the Bears it makes perfect sense to go after a QB with Caleb's potential. Doesn't mean Fields is absolute trash like others paint him out to be.

I've not once said Fields is trash. Hes def better than some of these ofays they recycle. Hes not good enough to forgo the upside of Williams though. When you point out his flaws its always an excuse however and thus it becomes a circular argument. I wanted him to pan out 100% but its too many games where he just looks lost. Yeah Flus lost some games but also even the denver game he didn't kick a field goal in. the comeback was assisted by Fields once again making some dumbass turnover. Hes just so anti clutch its crazy.

I think if you build your whole offensive philosophy around Fields it could work. But for how long, and who is willing to do that. Unless he fixes his hold time, awareness and processing speed his game isn't sustainable for a winning team.

Wasn't trying to imply that's what you were saying. More adding on to your post which I agreed with.

Who claimed he was absolute trash? Even when I was shytting on him I would admit he's done enough to start somewhere. But then again, I'm pretty sure his numbers in Chicago are WORSE than trubisky's was (I haven't checked numbers, im just speaking from watching every game).

So all this stock in Justin is based on physical gifts and potential, not actual production. I think both sides are retarded, those that find him trash as well as those who see him LEADING a team to a super bowl one day. His ceiling to me is the fastest game manager the league has ever seen, but he'll never actualize that potential if he continues to make bone headed decisions with the pigskin.

Numbers are fairly comparable. and we were begging for rubbishky to get the boot. Just watching them JF is considerably better though, but as far as production they are similar. :francis:

I think folks just have a mancrush on breh
