Where's your beat?:what:

I can help you out more if you upload something.

Don't worry about music theory.

Learn to loop, chop, and lay down drums. Get the fundamentals of beat making down and then you can learn basic music theory. Really if you can get your sounds in key that's all you need.

The bounce is coming from the drums. The sample is just a 2 bar loop. Beats like that are fairly simple which is why I was telling you to sample 2 bars.
exactly how @Supa described

you're making it harder than it needs to be, i speak from experience
Let me comeback later yall

To me, I don't see the point of sampling for artists/producers starting out, can't sell the piece or license it unless you pay money....Why get into a lawsuit?

If you want to sample, sample pieces in the public domain...

Theory is helpful, your very famous trap producers had some knowledge of musicianship before they got on...

That is the exception and shouldn't aspire to be neglectful of your craft...
Now trap producers have knowledge. Some of those early brehs did not tune the bass/808. Sounds was not in key.

I can’t afford rn but how would you compose shyt like bass lines and etc?

Pick samples with basslines so you don't need to make one. Don't think about making basslines until you can make a basic beat first.

Get a pad controller like an Akai MPK mini mk3 if you want to chop samples. It comes with software and is only $120.

Breh you waiting for a pep talk to hopefully motivate you enough to do some shyt...

I got bad news for ya...

IT WON'T HAPPEN..YOU have to make it happen.

Pick a workflow and stick to it..learn it before you decide to move on.

HARDWARE OR DAW?

MPC/MASCHINE OR FL/ABELTON

PICK one and actually take time to learn that bytch.

Just fukking make some damn beats you overcomplicating shyt way too much.

-start with a kick
-sometimes start with hi hats
-start with keys maybe

Then just build from that.

when I try to recreate what I hear in my head onto my MPC it usually fails...so I just go with the flow and end up producing some of my best beats.

SometSoundCloud. gonna produce trash...it happens..I do all the time...for 10beats I make...maybe about 4 beats I would call decent and share with THECOLI/soundcloud.

Make SOME damn beats...dedicate some time just for that..

shyt try to do 1 fuxking hour for just beat making PER WEEK. Can you do that?
You’re technically right cause I ain’t posting garbage. I want to show something decent. Been busy with work.

Try recreating some of your favorite beats. You will get better over time, don't give up, keep pressing the mark. I do everything on my phone nowadays using Koala Sampler.

I can’t do what I’m trying to do in FL
So I’m relearning Reason right now. shyt beat with the tutorials
Vocaroo | Online voice recorder
Yeah I want to learn more about time signatures and programming different drum grooves. After I get the basics down of Reason and learn their equivalent to Edison/Simpler, called Mimic. I can get back on that horse with samples.
