I got 10 other things going on right now. But I’m still about to fukk around on these beats. Sometimes I make a beat in 10 minutes and sometimes Im fukking around for a few hours and don’t even end up saving nothing. But I’m about to post every beat I complete in this thread today. If I get to 3 beats and you don’t post one before I post my third beat, then Mods, deleted this silly ass thread. You just be talking. Make a mothafukking beat. You don’t love this shyt

shid learn about keys. start with the easy ones with the least amount of flats or sharps.

Do this when you hit a plateau: wikipedia a key/scale, make beats only using those notes in the scale for a min, pay attention to the notes you're using to memorize it. Then when you get bored, go to the next key. Thats how I learned scales when I was self teaching. Then you can switch between keys when you want once you know your notes

Also for inspiration, listen to anything and everything. Do it as much as you can all day.. you gotta be swimming in music to create good shyt. You'll have melodies and rhythms in your head all day

Bonus: learn time new time signatures. 4/4 is great, but when you learn how to utilize different ones or switch back and forth its crazy.

Sounds like you got writer's block. Steps:
1) Pick a genre
2) Emulate a production style
3) Use basic music theory to construct a song.

Can you play an instrument or have an understanding of music theory?

This is some advice to anyone reading this that is actually serious about trying to make beats. If you don’t actually have a passion for this, just quit now because it’s a process to get to where you comfortable and can easily make beats. Some get there quicker than others, but it’s a beginning phase of being frustrated with the technical side, having to look up or figure out how to do simple shyt. Then your beats not gonna sound like how you want them to in the beginning. Even when you think they good, they probably gonna be trash. You only gonna push through all that shyt if you actually love sitting down making music. If not, sell your equipment and give up.
