For a number of reasons. I'm in San Antonio right now. Moved here from Atlanta for a tech job five years ago. I hate it here for a number of reasons. Time for me to move. I have considered Austin since I have tech contacts here but I also looked at Raleigh. here's why:
-I work in technology as I mentioned. Raleigh has Research Triangle Park. Silicon Valley of the East Coast. RedHat, EMC, Cisco to name a few companies. Plenty of startups too.
-Young city / college town vibe yet you can go to Durham or somewhere and raise a family from what I heard.
-Diverse (more diverse than South Texas. It's mostly Hispanic here, very few blacks)
-Low cost of living. You can stretch your dollar. It has a similar cost of living to San Antonio.
-Four seasons.
-Few hours from Atlanta, few hours from DC. Few hours from the beach & mountains
-More women than men in that area.
-Politically moderate.
Also I've heard great things about Charlotte but it's not on my list at the current moment. I have used this list a lot to help me narrow down even though I work a remote job
Raleigh is high up there for good reason.
Looking to hear more positives and negatives though.

but maybe things feel different.
, There's always shyt to do in the state so if you don't mind driving you can always find shyt to do
boy oh boy somebody been lying to you
yo im dying right now.

If you're in tech and bringing in a decent salary, with the cost of living you can live pretty comfortably
Nightlife isn't crazy but it's there. Durham is more of a bar scene, Raleigh has Glenwood South and downtown. If you really get bored, take a weekend trip, but that can go for anywhere. There's tons of great places to eat, especially in Durham. Low key, the Mexican food
Because of the colleges and all the jobs you'll run into people from all over. I think it's be a better place to live if you're already settled down or got G but even if you're single you can still make it work.
